Removing Side Trim pieces

I am going to repaint my trim pieces that are on the exterior of the doors. What is the best way of removing these?

them bitches dont come off easy at all, theres clips and glue

and the glue doesnt come off easily at all once the trims off..

tspe it off and surround it with newspaper, save yourself 1000000000x the hassle

All the above is true...

but if your must just get a plastic spatula or "sponger" and gently insert it in between the moulding and the door skin.

Start from one side usually the open end of the door and slowly pull the molding back.

You will probably need to replace the clips for the molding which can be acquired from the stealer.

Once the molding is off simply use a razor blade to remove the glue from the molding and use a "rubber de-glue tool" on the door skin.

I think I may just go ahead and tape it off. I usually like to have the pieces off the car but sounds like it would take a lot more time to pull it off.

I took everything off to send to paint my BH wagon (Outback)

They came of easily, broke off only 2 clips on each side of the car!

I'd say take them off, the job is much better!

Easy there... no need for name calling.. it is the internet after all.

Gen 2s are easier then Gen 3 btw... less clips more glue

I will head to the junkyard this week and see how they come off there. That way I don't mess it up.
