I have a 1998 Subaru Legacy L wagon manual 2.2 liter.
My clutch cable broke and for some reason my spring disappeared!
If any of you have a car parting out with a clutch Please PM me so we can meet up. Thanks!

Just to double check..

On these models that have the "Subaru Hill holder option"

You have

Clutch Pedal -> Cable -> Hill Holder Spring -> Hydraulic Resovoir -> Slave Cylinder -> Fork

If the hill holder spring broke the quickest item you can install is an upgraded spring.

Go to your local hardware store and find an industrial spring around the same lenght as the stock unit. Attach it to the stock position or find another area on the block to attach it to.

I had this happen to me a few years back and the higher strength spring I installed made my pedal feel much stiffer and springs back much faster.

Just an option :-D

Well my car has a mechanical clutch system-I do have a hill holder but I have no Hydraulic Resovoir and no slave cylinder.
Also, it's not the hillholder spring that broke it's my clutch pedal spring down under by the pedal. It disapeared! That's all I need

Have you tried Pick and Pull in Lakewood? They almost always have at least one BD/BG/BK or a 1st gen Impreza... You can also check Roy Y Auto wrecking in Roy, or Budget, Binfords, or AAA in Kent. I know they all have Subaru parts. Most the time they get $25 for a pedal, well thats when I get them for auto to 5 speed conversions on s13's...
