Well I am thinking of selling the Legacy to get an S4 but I am having trouble to put a price on it since its so custom....even considering parting...maybe some input will help!!!

Here's the info:
-97 Legacy Outback Wagon Gray/Green in good condition and Very very minor rust!
-JDM headlight projectors
-JDM rear tails
-Piaa fogs
-JDM L7 grill
-STI V4 engine(STI V6 block) with TD05 turbo with aprox 30 000km built by Kosmic mated with V4 tranny(4.44) with Suretrack rear Diff .
-2006 STI from cross member complete with rack and pinion sway
-2005 STI rear cross member with aftermarket Diff bushings and outriger bushings also
-Group n engine and tranny mount
-3in turbo SS back exaust
-05 STI Struts
-06 STI knuckles on all 4 corners with 300ZX 4-2pot conversion (can use 16in wheels) with SS lines
-STI 20mm rear sway (no more ABS could could be fixed)
-17x8 +40 OZ Superlaggera with Hankook summers near new
-16x8 +30 Skyline GTR with toyo winters
-new windsheild
-no more A/C
-Recently installed OEM rear wing

Wow... I hope you dont get offended but from what I have seen with other similar builds... I think $5500-$6500 would be the top end. That is unless you want to wait for a full year finding the perfect buyer to pay you more... but then you better hope that they are local or willing to come pick it up.


This is just my opinion and others might have a different point of view...

id try for 7. I sold my bone stock w/ only cosmetic mods for 6k. You can easily get 7 from someone wanting power with low insurance. Id post for 7 cuz even if someone tries to lowball you and offer 6500 your still up 500.

I would think $7000 ish if it were in Seattle... Decent 97-99 BD/BK GT's still sell over here for 3500-6000 stock, Outbacks go for about 2500-5000... Any clean Subie goes for good money over here, but thats no rust, dents, and a tight motor... Just saw a clear OB listed for 6000.... You could always try selling it on ebay....

This is going to be hard to sell it for what it's worth intact - there is a lot of work gone on, the major part being the engine swap and drivetrain work. Just read the thread you linked to.

$6000 is a bargain for a car that is probably capable of beating on WRXs all day.

Would be a real fun car for someone to keep building on, you've already done a lot of the hard work.

BTW. Can you post a build thread on the 89 Civic with AWD?!?

That was my very first manual car, and hella fun in FWD. I can't imagine what it would be like to run (or even BUILD) an AWD civic...

I would say go 7500. A wrx swapped car can fetch 6-7 so I am sure you will have no problem selling a good Sti swapped 2nd gen for 7500.

That's a lot of work though, I doubt he'd want to go through all that as well.

Unfortunately, you probably won't get 7000-7500 for it, unless you can find a buyer on here or Nasioc. Definitely try selling on the forums first, because most 'normal' people won't be interested in all of the STi parts.

I'd actually be interested in buying it if I were a lot closer...

I guess this all depends on where you live. I know the lack of AC is going to drive off casual buyers and now you're catering to tuners and hardcore types.

Here in southeast texas, I couldn't even fathom selling my car. You hardly see a Subaru at all down here. No one down here knows what it is or cares enough because it's obviously not a WRX.
