My username on the Atlantic Canada Subaru Club is MYSTi, but here it is going to be sansMYSTi to better describe my pending situation. I have (for now anyway) a 2004 WRB STi, hense MYSTi, but due to the needs of my family, both money and back seat volume, I have to give her up. I currently have a deposit on a 2002 Legacy GT wagon (titanium AKA beige), so I thought I would check out this club. I am looking for ideas on how to spruce up this wagon into something a little more me. I am not sure what is out there for Legacy wagons, but I am hoping to get some ideas from this club. All I have to start out with is a set of Rota Tarmac II's (gold) that I was using as winter rims on MYSTi. Ideas for the car that are cheap and simple?

if you're trying to save money, modding the car is NOT the way to go!
Take the money you will be saving and put it into a nice money market fund or a nice high interest savings account (www.ingdirect.com (http://www.ingdirect.com)). :D
Trust me, in a couple of years you'll have the STi back.
But if you MUST:
The Rota's will fit nicely.
A nice cheap mod that the kids appreciate during summer is tinted windows.
Good tires on the stock rims is a good improvement, and it's safety orientated.

I would be looking only at cosmetic mods at this point - I don't want to make the car hot, then I would only end up driving like the STi. But yes, tint is great for the kids, and maybe a entertainment system. I like the car but not the color - hmmmm, maybe a WRB paintjob...

This is one of the cleanest 00-04 wagons I've seen, just to give you an idea.

Doesn't take much to make the legs look classy and sleek. Also take a look at HFS[]Devil's BE sedan. He's got it looking good as well, with several DIY projects (like his lights and grill). All I'd do is tint, and some lights and wheels. Suspension is going to be fun, but it'll kill the ride quality for the kids.

If you like cosmetic changes and want to get into the JDM parts, I know from being over in England that the model you're looking at do have some differences.
They have side markers, different front corner lenses that are clear (not orange) and the tail lights are different too with clear on the sides.
If you really wanted to be unique, you could get a hood from Europe or Japan with the scoop on it! They didn't sell them like that in North America!
Take a look at this car from the UK! Drool... I know it's a sedan, but they have wagons like it too!

Yup - don't have the car yet and already I am searching eBay and scouting out sites that sell aftermarket Legacy parts. Thats the good thing about the Legacy over the STi - the STi was exactly the way I wanted it and I was in too much money to do much with it anyway, but with the Legacy I can afford to mod it and make it distinct. I am actually looking forward to to the challenge (still am going to miss MYSTi though  ).
