Ever since I got my 95 Outback back last year it has had a bouncing speedometer up until about 30 mph then it works like normal. Something lose on the transmission side or what?

Check to see that the speed sensor is screwed into the trans correctly.

Give up and just give it to me. Oh, and the STI too.

Come get it after your GT is WRX/5 speed swapped.

If it's a mechanical connection with cable to speedo, it could be the damper in the back of the speedo unit. Might also be sticky cable needing some grease.

It won't be on a 95. It's all electrical.
I've noticed sometimes my speedo will be dead until I hit 15mph and then it bounces up. Most of the time it's fine though. Huffer's advice will probably fix your problem.

So I am guessing my speed sensor also. My problem is that sometimes my speedo dies completely. Yesterday it did. Is the vss on my 99 easy to get to?

^^ should be, unless you have one of the bizarro 99's and have a hodge podge of BE and BD tech mashed together. In which case there will be 2 speed sensors on the tranny, otherwise just one, on the drivers side up top.

Thanks, I wasn't sure... I've only ever owned old cars.
