Hi, everyone i have a 98 legacy gt wagon and i was wondering if a 6 speed manual trans would bolt right up to my stock motor with out a problem and what do i need to make it fit? I have a feeling my trans is gonna go out soon so im looking to upgrade to the sti trans. thanks for the help.

Your STI six speed will take a fair amount of work to run right - and you're looking at a drivetrain worth more than your car, probably. PM Rougeben83. He can give you some excellent information.

Of the top of my head you will need atleast the following.

6spd Flywheel, Clutch and Pressure Plate
6spd Cross member and tranny mount (i think you might be able to use a legacy automatic cross member but not 100%)
Shorter drive shaft, (legacy automatic drive shaft should work)
Matching rear diff (3.9 or 3.535 depending on transmission donor year)
Axle/axle stubs, (depends on donor year of the transmission from what i remember)
DCCD controler, (without it the tranny will default to a 35/65 torque distribution so you will burn up rear tires faster)

honestly, its almost simpler to get a full drivetrain swap, and get the Brembos as well, but then you would likely need new larger wheels as well..... either way its an expensive road to go down...
