Engine Bay Color opinions

I want to start a color theme for my engine bay but I don't know what color to go with. I have the engine out and apart so I though this would be a good time to start with my intake manifold. But I want you guys to help me pick a color. Remember my car is black.
Then there is the issue of what to color, right now I am thinking:
Intake manifold
intake piping after I get an aftermarket intake
wire from grounding kit
hoses here and there
Belt shrouds
Timing cover (maybe)
radiator shroud (maybe)
anything else I might want to paint? expecially now that the engine is all apart.

theres a fine line between rice and nice, i would paint a few parts but nothing crazy. i would stick with the intake manifold and a intake/intercooler pipe

I voted for black, but really just for intake manifold and maybe valve covers. Like a textured black similar to the red for sti's. Other than that just clean everything real well. Imo, a lot of color isn't needed, I like the mechanical metal look that you get just by cleaning super good.

I vote green. Those other colors are too common (well, maybe not yellow.... but ugh).

Keep the bay black. A different color engine bay usually shows a bad or half assed paint job.

I've always liked white engine bays, it's so easy to find any leak issues haha.

But it definitely is a sign of a half assed paint job having a mismatched engine bay.

I think he's talking about what color to paint his engine parts, not the actual engine bay.

ya i'm just talking about parts not the whole engine bay lol
And I added gold to the poll and it reset everything to zero :mad: so everyone can revote. I thing a couple of thoes votes were for the whole engine bay anyway. I'm still undecided though.

I'd like to see a polished version of the aluminum parts. Block, heads, intake,,, everything. That would be such an extreme undertaking,,,, I'm shaking my head just thinking of it.

To this, simple yet clean...I don't plan on doing much else under there...like racingking says there is a fine line between rice and nice...I think mine looks nice.

I have decided to paint just the intake manifold for now flat black. I will see how that looks once it is in the car and go from there.

Looks good dude...I've always liked the look of flat black. Toss some nice anodized blue or red parts and it would look mint. Keep up the good work.

With a black car i would go for a dark Red or lime candy green.
Once saw a all black Trans Am with green grille and sidevents. Best combo ever (in my mind)

Yeah its kinda ricey looking right now but the red does draw you're eyes into the engine bay.
