air conditioning on, car getting to hot!

so the last 2 days while having the ac on in the car it has been getting dangerously hot is there a reason for this?

running without the ac on the temp is fine? this is the first time it has ever done this!

any help?

Maybe the increased load is showing a overheating problem you are developing. Check to see if your radiator and condenser is blocked up with dirt.

Make sure your cooling fans are working. Also, does the A/C cool effectively? If the A/C is overcharged or overpressurizing, it can actually cause the engine to overheat.

And last but not least, don't overlook the amount of antifreeze you have in there. Check it first thing in the AM or when it has sat enough for it to be totally cooled down.

yeah the rez tank was almost empty so I added to that, but it was to hot to check the actual radiator. The AC is working fine, blows very cool air. The cooling fans work as well. HUM you know now that you say something I had this problem before, where the second fan wasnt kicking on and it was over heating. I will check that today. THANKS!
