I was thinking about taking out my trunk light and putting an LED tube in the out line of my trunk any help with wiring? would i need to hard wire it to the battery?

The only thing you need to do is find out where power is coming out at for the normal trunk light and tie in from there. I would put a fuse (or bigger fuse) in the line though so there are no problems. There is a DIY trunk light system on here too in the DIY section.

I used to 12" cold cathodes mention for a computer case and they worked awesome on my past car. They are were very easy to wire and were incredibly bright

you can hardwire from you battery and ground to one of your tail light bolts if you want but as httrdd said, theres a power wire already sent through your stock trunk light setup. could probably ground it through that as well.

Why not just replace your trunk light bulb with an LED version?
