mine i have some minor electrical issues that seem to fix themselves when i get really annoyed by it. also it makes noises and when i try to pinpoint where it is coming from it stops.
the car seems to also run differently with my mood and also what kind of music i am playing.
anyone else have some weird issue with your Subaru that it seems like it has a mind of its own.

My car has a wicked vibration that occurs from somewhere in the middle of the dashboard. It only happens when it wants to, road surface, RPM, vehicle speed, or any combination doesn't matter. Just randomly this throbbing rattle like plastic rubbing occurs and I can beat my dashboard to death and it makes no difference.
Also my center rear mirror decides to slowly start looking at the gear shifter on it's own. No pattern, may not move for a week. Or, every 5 seconds it wants to look down.

My temperature gauge will sometime work wonderfully for a week, and then sometimes it's possessed and it'll flick around all over the place. Far as I can tell, my engine isn't overheating at all. I got a replacement gauge, same thing.

you are rite on with this post! subarus are the closest thing to a real life curby the love bug. me and the outback talk all the time and she gets little presents and hugs from me all the time, I have definitely noticed the car responds very well to positive mood and attention. I have even gotten her to run without petrol or oil just on good vibes and promising her I will fix anything thats wrong and get her all kinds of new stuff if she will just get me home, as a result I have never been stranded EVER in my subarus, NEVER! I have busted transmissions and driven home with one gear, I have totaled out many other cars with my subarus and nothing has ever broken enough to keep me from driving away, I have hit deer and she didn't even miss a beat, I have run them without oil sometimes for days before I could get more, and my favorite is when something major does brake it seems to have redundancies built in to keep it going like if we were to have 2 hearts or 4 kidneys or arms that can grow back.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE subarus and will always have at least one no matter how rich or poor I get, I trust them more than most people I know and rely on mine not only to get around but to keep my beautiful children and wife safe and never stranded. yes they do have a mind of their own, a mind like your best friend or even your soulmate, they are ALIVE my friends love them and they will love you back :smt007

I think that our cars must be a form of a Doctor Who, or the Tardis. if you do not know what i am talking about google it.

That made me lol. Herby.
Every car I've ever owned seemed to have a mind of its own. My first car tried to kill me by going to WOT in the middle of heavy traffic on its own! Lol, all I had to do was turn the key off, a trick that many Toyota owners seem to not be capable of doing. Both the turbo cars I've owned seem to huge variations in how much power they want to produce depending on how they feel :)

My EGR system hates me... I have replaced every part and when I think I have it fixed, the light comes back on... P0400... little bastard! That and my door dinger works maybe 30% of the time on the driver door... haha

...or putting it in neutral.
As long as I'm OT, several studies proved that most of those people who claimed that the car went WOT when they hit the brakes were shown to be accidentally hitting the gas pedal instead.

^^ that's cos they only had two pedals to choose from and guess which pedal gets the most use? LOL
My car is always acting up. I think because I never baby it anymore.

There was one day where it was very lightly raining so I would hit the wipers to go once whenever I needed it but everytime I did that my radio would turn off for 2-3 seconds. It only happened that one day never again
And my cruise control gets pissy when it's cold out. During winter I have to really hold the lever down to get it to set and sometimes it won't at all. But in the summer one little tap and it sets fine

I'm betting your battery was really in need of a charge that day and the voltage was dipping.

Then minor weird things happen inside the car on it's own, I get upset about it and it suddenly stops..

I used to have to hit the ceiling to get the dome lights to work.
My dash lights used to only work when I hit the dash. I never had that problem after the first month I owned the car... I think it realized that it was in good hands. Like a pet that was abused previously.

my outback runs awesome except for the piston slap, but i have driven it 45k miles in a little over 2 years (that is a lot of driving) and has (knock on wood) left me stranded 1 time and it was because of the battery and alternator was bad. my car was not taken very good care of before me, so i am finding that it still needs some things, but it runs fine with out them. i am going to have to call AAA today now probably for saying that my car has only let me down once.
