Just got my 2005 LGT wagon 5MT.
The fender got a ding from the PO driving at winter driving school, and the bumper clip(s) must have snapped as well.
It doesn't move much, but the bumper doesnt line up properly, and I think I see the evidence of a zip tie in there. Just don't want to pry too much before I ask for help.
Anyone know where to find a write up on bumper installation/removal? The search box didn't help much.
Here's a pic:

If the clip is gone you can run a small bolt with a washer through the hole and put a nut on the end. Otherwise just get a new clip from the dealer.

This is exactly what I did. It's way more secure than the stock setup. Although, in the event of another crash, it will probably tear apart more stuff. Oh well.

I picked up new hardware at ACE HARDWARE,
this guy: here (http://www.google.com/imgres?q=clip+bolt&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&client=safari&sa=N&rls=en&tbm=isch&tbnid=N_1mMqro9YAPpM:&imgrefurl=http://motormogul.com/search.php%253Fq%253Dcategory%25253A1967%252B79%252BFull%252BSize%252BTruckBronco%252BHARDWARE%252BHardware%25253A%2526page%253D1%2526sort%253DpriceDesc&docid=RBYdeLq-YTiD6M&w=600&h=439&ei=u6gsTu3sOouOsAKm0ImOCw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=817&vpy=358&dur=168&hovh=192&hovw=263&tx=103&ty=94&page=2&tbnh=126&tbnw=196&start=62&ndsp=61&ved=1t:429,r:24,s:62&biw=1920&bih=982)
then get two new stainless steel bolts and washers, done!

a zip tie will probably work just as well...i held mine together with some 8 gauge wire already.

To get at the hole/clip area, can I just pry the fender liner back? I don't wanna pop any more clips.

The plastic nut/rivet is only like $1.25 at the stealership...
This is VERY close to what it looks like... at least on the second gen legacies. As you can see... it is square so it wont spin and as the screw goes up into it... the plastic expands... holding it in the fender.

Seems like a zip tie would be just as strong as those little plastic clips. I'll figure it out.
