Hi guys,

Does anyone know where I can get a rear upper strut brace for my BH5 Legacy?
I've been told the lower ones - the ones that mount upto the suspension tops dont make much difference, is this true?

Cheers

Andy

Doesn't do a thing.

Cusco, Beatrush and a few others make them.
The Beatrush ones stay hidden under the floor, all the others need holes cut in the floor/trim to get them to fit.

there's no such thing as an "upper" strut brace on the 3rd gens. The struts are bolted to the floor.

You just described what he didn't want. There's only one "tower" brace location, any thing else and you're talking about either subframe braces that go underneat the car or something that attaches to the parcel shelf and triangulates the strut top points as a brace.

Did you click that link and look at the picture?

Since when has a BH had a parcel shelf?

There are the strut top braces like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-L ... 2ea76fad1e (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-Legacy-89-03-Outback-95-04-REAR-Strut-Bar-Brace-/200377609502?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ea76fad1e)
The Beatrush one is much nicer / more $. Beatrush has all kinds of braces for 3rd gen, Cusco does too, for all kinds of applications - they have roof (interior) 'performance bars', under chassis braces, etc.

I know what it looks like...considering I have had a Cusco one in my trunk for over 3 years now. There's no "upper" strut tower brace, there's no "lower" strut tower brace, there's just ONE regular, good ole strut tower brace. There's no use trying to play semantics.

I was saying *if* any brace goes any higher than the floor on a BE, you'll be connecting the strut tops that are bolted to the floor, to the upper trunk frame around the parcel shelf/rear deck area in a triangular fashion like some full rear braces on WRX's like so, but inverted.

Show me something like this.
