I know it will physically fit, but does anyone know if it's a different size (ie shorter throw)?

No different. There are various DIY if you want to mod and shorten it yourself. Or the eBay version is only ~ $30.

Lame! I've looked through the DIY's and I'm just not handy enough with a welder to take something like that on. I'll start saving my pennies for the eBay one I guess.

I have had an eBay one and a genuine SPT one, and they were honestly the exact same performance wise

Yeah, I can't really see much difference between the two except brands.

If you do get an eBay shifter, be sure to wrap the middle urethane bushing in teflon (or electrical) tape to help stop that obnoxious rattle that can come from it.
