Looking to get a short ram intake. I have a 00 legacy l wagon. I can't fond anything besides the weapon-r ones and i hear they're not too good. Right now I'm running just a k&n air filter in my stock air box but I'd like to replace my whole stock system. Thanks

short ram, CAI, or anything other than stock will get you nothing but horrible MPG and a significant loss of torque. the only thing gained is the sound (which is AWESOME!) if you don't care then you should do a custom setup as you will have a VERY hard time finding one. get an adapter to go on your MAF and then get a cone filter and you will be set.

My k&n filter gives me that "sound" already ha which was a shock when I first heard it. I thought cai or Sri didn't mess up your gas mileage, I just wanted to replace my worn stock air box and everything.

Replace the tubing, and bulky air box at the TB (along with those silly dildo looking things) with something like this.

I did an SRI pipe into the stock air box with a snokus delete.

Most of what was said above is irrevelent to you because you have a third gen which is map based. Check out Cosmo they have one for your car.

I have been off and on with the Hybrid setup (with K&N panel filter) and a cone filter setup. I swap it every once in awhile. I do notice a *little* more oomph in the topend but I do notice a decrease in throttle response and low end power.

Cosmo is the way to go. I've had it both ways, I think the CAI is better for some reason.
Anyways:

This is using the Cosmo SRI, buying a scratch and dented CAI that was mislabeled for my car from OBX and it was dirt cheap with free shipping. I cut the CAI down to size and bought couplings from Autozone.

Your air filter ends up doing this:

I bought a K&N dry prefilter to go over the cone to protect it from splashes. (Not installed in the pic)
