I've done a scan on the Check Engine Light. and it pulled up the following codes.

P0130 02 Sensor Fault Bank #1
P0136 02 Sensor Fault Bank #2

^ so apparently there are 2 02 sensors on my vehicle?

and it pulled up these codes but it doesn't indicate what they are

P1100
P1101
P1120
P1121
P1540
P1540

does anyone know what they are?

Edit:

nevermind guys, i found this useful website with all the codes for the legacy.

btw, someone might wanna upon up a thread and stickie this site :p

Holy shit!!

yes, there are 2 o2 sensors, one is pre-cat, one is post cat, they just tell the ECU how well the engine is burning fuel (first sensor) and how well the cat is working (second sensor).

As for the others...might wanna take care of them, looks like you have a few issues...

yeah, hella lots of sensors.

but those 2 02 sensors are the lease that i worry about.
what my big concerns are:

vehicle speed sensor & 2
start switch circuit
neutral position switch circuit high & low imput

seems there some sort of malfuctions in the circuits..wtf :?

hmmm...sounds like there could be a little grounding problem. Check your battery cables, reset the ECU, check the ground to the engine block, starter, body, etc.

As for the o2 sensors, yes, you can let them go, but if they're malfunctioning, the ECU will dump a shitload of fuel into the engine, and you'll get poor gas mileage.

Like Mark said, if they ECU sees incorrect voltage coming from any of the sensors, it will trip a code. Not saying the code is correct in the actual problem due to the faulty reading sent back to the computer. This is one of the main reasons for upgrading the ground cables on the 2.5 & 2.2 motors. The factory grounding wires for many of the sensors is very small & in a poor spot to ground to.

yeah. take a look at your ground wire that's connected to the tranny. mine broke off, but i don't nearly need it as much (or at all maybe?) with a 5MT (that's for sale. :smt023 [/shameless plug]).

ground wires on trany and on battery. gotcha, i'll check and get back to you guys. and can anyone show me where the ground wires are? pics? :D

and does this seem to be a good upgrade for the ground wires?

Honestly, that's not too shabby for the money they're asking.
The main spots would be the strut towers in the engine bay and from the battery to the engine. Going with a good set of 8 AWG (American Wire Gauge) wires will do. I'd pass on anything smaller (10 AWG or 12 AWG).

Gil, can you take some photos of your grounding wire upgrade?

Alright! thanks man.

and did you use 8 gauge wires for that too?

Wiscon_Mark

nope, hardware store didn't have any 8 guage in bulk for some reason :smt017

I used 10 guage. I'm thinking of upgrading to 4

anywho, back on topic.

this is strange, i did check the CEL again with the scan tool.
and it came up with nothing :? no codes were throwing out, and yet the Check Engine Light is on. i had 8 codes that threw out the other day, now today nothing. :?

I took what I’ve seen and tweaked it.

I started at the negative (black) terminal of the battery, and ran it to the driver-side manifold.

Driver-Side Manifold
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/9038/drvmanifold5hr.jpg

At the driver-side manifold, I split it into 3. One to the driver-side strut-tower, one to the alternator, and one to the throttle body. At Jason’s and Matt’s suggestion at the Corning meet, I terminated at one of the two sensor grounds on each of the strut towers, and clobbered together a jumper to connect the two separate sensor grounds.

Rear of Alternator

Throttle Body

From the rear of the alternator, I also ran another line to the passenger-side manifold.

Passenger-Side Manifold

From there, I split it into two. One went to the passenger-side strut-tower, and the other to the coil pack.

Coil Pack

And I think that's about it. 7 (9 with the jumpers) points in all. Hopes this helps.

i'd reset the ECU and see what happens. I mean, you have nothing to lose really.

8 AWG THHN from Home Depot.

i'd also recommend not spending money on those fancy ring connector (with red sleeve). regular ones from Home Depot or radioShack work just as well, like the ones on the jumpers on the strut towers. just clip off the plastic collar/sleeve and throw some heat shrink around it.

awsome thanks again.

i might probly do this sometime in the future.

and do you feel any gains in hp?

this is not a power mod. the SOLE purpose is to smoothen things out. especially noticable when idling right after startup.
