I'm going to do this with my RS bumper.
My motivation was a Chevy Cobalt SS.

Looks sick imo. I'm guessing your motivational bumper is a custom jdm one? I've never seen one like it before.

Yup it sure was. That white wagon in the first thread is my main motivation for having a wagon. That's a GT-B Bumper I believe that he cut up and re-did.

I pulled the trigger on it tonight at my buddies house. It looks good but I need to go back and redo the outside lines to make them flow with the bumper better. I'll have some pics up in the AM.

Sweet. I was considering doing the same to mine. I had chopped mine thus:

My chop obviously only deleted the center pillar, and isn't a black out.

That looks sweet Huffer. Part of the reason I wanted to paint mine was to give the illusion of not having those pillars.

Done and done! Eventually I'll go back and reshape the lines on the corners a bit so they flow with the car better but for now I'm pretty happy with it.

Did you use paint or vinyl? My bumper is so badly chipped up a semi-decent paint job in the mouth isn't going to be a bad move. :lol:

Funny story... I intended on using a flat black engine enamel but I completely forgot it at my house when I went over there. We had already taped off the bumper when I realized I didn't have my paint, so I just used a generic gloss black acrylic enamel he had floating around. I put 2 light coats on first letting them dry about 15-20 mins in between coats the 2 medium-heavy coats letting about 30-40 minutes between each coat and about an hour before removing the tape.

I'm going to go back and re-do the corners where the mouth opens onto the lip because the lines were really hard to tape and judge how it was going to look. I'll end up repainting the whole thing when I do, so I'll most likely use something a bit more suited to the job.

I think when I do this I'll tape the bumper off, and then use a razor blade to cut the contour.
I should really get my car running again!

i think it would look great. sort of maybe look like an audi a little bit. i have been thinking about doing this on my BH. using 3m di-noc carbon fiber peel. the BH hood has some geat body lines on the hood and ithought might look nice to use the di=noc film down ceter of hood(wide at top by window squirters and getting narrower at the grill, following the hood body lines) and maybe even doing the grill, and stait down the bumper.

Yup I left the pillars in. The black paint kind of masks them though unless you're staring right at them.
