empty wagon,need a bit of down force.

now that there are no seats or well anything in the back of my wagon,im looking for a bit of down force to keep the end from slipping out while cornering.

what "wings" are made for wagons?

Grab some 2x4s, aluminum foil, and duct tape. That should do the trick ;)

just kidding. Anyways, I think theres a guy on here with a BD wagon that just got it painted white, he had some kind of wing on it. I don't dig them on the wagons, and I doubt you'd get any kind of downforce gain from it without it looking outrageous. I'd just toss some ballast weight in the back and get wider tires :twisted:

what about a wing mounted between the roof rack rails, if you have them equipped? I think that is the only way to feasibly get some downforce.

i could be wrong but i doubt you'll have a real problem with the rear kicking out from just removing some of the interior parts...

Get stickier rubber. Best way to improve downforce is to improve overall grip.

The wagon already HAS tonnes of downforce on it.

Wagons are naturally heavier than sedans (all that glass) in the rear, so don't worry about it. Besides, the rear seats are pretty near the middle of the car, so it'll have less effect. Just leave it alone. There aren't any effective wings that wouldn't look totally ridiculous, and you're not going to have enough downforce at the auto-x anyways.

Besides, these cars aren't terrible oversteerers anyways, maybe you'll improve on the feel ;)

not to mention that you would have to be going 110MPH + for a wing to add any substantial downforce to your car. Taking any high speed corners?

i'm sorry but i still don't see how removing a few of the interior pieces, the rear seat, and i'm assuming the spare tire is gonna make that HUGE of a difference in the handling of the car... it's gotta be less than 100 lbs.

is it kicking out on dry pavement? obviously the car's gonna break loose in gravel/dirt...

get some better rubber and a sway bar/rear strut tower brace... that should help the car stick better....

Not for our legacies. The first subaru to have an underbody diffuser that I've seen is the 06 STI.

Meh, would a diffuser really make that much of a difference in situations where most of us would be using it? Probably not. Just like the wing, you need to me pushing some air for it to matter at all.

Stick with suspension mods. That rear strut tower brace will definitely stiffen up the back for you, and some nice rubber will keep it right where you want it :)

Front strut brace is overkill IMHO. Nice bling, but that's about it.

Rear SB is probably the first thing I would do on a wagon (because it was the last thing I did on mine, and it made the biggest difference that I could feel) :lol:

What tires did you get? Hopefully you got application specific treads - seeing as you mentioned you went mud/gravel...

That's based off the Hippo Sleek bodykits in Japan...either that or the HS stuff is based off the alleged STi designs.
