Oil pressure gauge

Question on the head they have this little allen hex that runs the length of the head.. can that be used for a pressure sensor?

Not sure about that plug but on my car, (even before the swap) if the oil pressure sender wire was unplugged, nothing happened. No check engine light, no buzzers going off, so I removed the stock oil psi sender and got an aftermarket gauge and the adapter fitting. Fitting needed is a 1/8" male british pipe thread to 1/8" national pipe female thread. Here's where I ordered mine, https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produ ... There should be a hex plug on the rear of the engine block, passenger side. WRX guys use that port all the time for gauge sensors.

I use the one on the back of the head for my Defi oil pressure gauge, since my oil temp sending unit is in the galley plug on the top of the block. I thought I had a picture somewhere of the pressure sender installed, but apparently I don't. As you said, though, that plug on the back of the head taps into a gallery that runs through the head, so it works out just fine:

It's 1/8" PT, which is the JIS (Japanese) spec thread, not the US-spec 1/8" NPT, so make sure your sending unit has the proper thread or use an adapter like the one bookem linked to.
