I looked all throughout 'Swaps & Conversions' and didn't find a straight answer or one i was satisfied with.

I am aware the seats will sit higher, though i'm 6'0" it won't bother me, i just want to know of the simplest way to give power to the heaters. Will some simple splicing do the trick or a new switch installed in my car...or what?

Let me know whenever please and thank you!
I'm spending $100 on the seats just because it's a good deal and they are better looking than my Outback seats, it'd just be kick ass if the heaters worked as well. I have a few things in mind.

When I did mine I grabbed an entire harness out of the junk yard. It had all the switches and relays, then all I had to do was fish it under the carpet and provide a couple of connections (ground, fused, dash lights)

My suggestion is to run the heating elements through a stock switch that has the icon/symbol for the heated seats. You only need to tap power for it but make sure you include a fuse inline to cut power if your switch fails to turn off. I recommend not tapping power off any essential items, like your HVAC or other dash controls. Ciggie lighter/12v outlet is usually pretty decent and it has it's own fuse already built in and is usually on it's own circuit.

Okay cool thanks a lot for the tips.
I'm on the lookout for a harness now, but if it doesn't work out, the seats still look cool as hell, just thought heated ones would be cooler lol. I'll keep posting here and let you guys know how it goes

What size fuse should I use in the in-line fuse holder?
1.seat 2.wire/in-line fuse 3.fuse box 4.dash switch
Correct?

Is anyone aware of which harness is for the heater?
Underneath the XT seats, there is a yellow harness that kind of just hangs there & then theres a blue one that's stationary almost against the seat rail...i'm thinking it's that one
But does anyone know for sure?

Thanks

Most yellow harnesses are for the SRS. So I would assume it's the other one.

This post is a short excerpt from when I added seat heaters to my 98 LGT.

The 97 outback that I owned already had the pigtail connectors for the switches in the center console. You may want to look before you good searching for a harness. The wiring schematic is in the above post as well. Pm me if you have questions.
