I just put my 17s on my 2000 RS and the rear rubs a little bit. It rubs on the rubber trim that goes around the wheelwell...will just removing it fix the problem or will it start wearing on the fender? How can I slightly roll that inside without screwing up the paint?

Check youtube. Basically you roll with a baseball bat. Some paint might need touching up unless you want to go professional.

I just gotta roll that inside ledge, i think the rest of the fender will be fine

Just take off that pinch weld that it rubs on now - you get an extra 5mm or so of clearance, which might be enough.

Explain. Not sure what you mean.

Me?
There is a metal strip wrapped in rubber (pinch weld) on the inside of the rear guard lip, take it off an you get more clearance.

I don't want the metal lip killing the tire

Then you either have to raise up your suspension, change your tire size, or roll your fenders.

You said you switched to 17s, from 16s? What tire size are you running, and what's the offset on the wheels? I ran 17x7 wheels on my GF, 215/45/17 and no problems with a 40mm lowering. Stock type struts and springs. Never rubbed.

Would spacers in the rear help with my rears rubbing? I have no rub up forward.

went from 205/55/r16 to 215/45/r17 so not too much difference...google says their +35 offset

Spacers would make it worse if it's rubbing on the guard.
But would help if you rubbing on the strut.

Offset is why your rubbing.

Oh soory not spacers for the wheels, I meant the ones for the saggy butt. I dont really have saggy but, but just need to get more clearance in the wheel wells.
