Automatic Transmission fluid disposal?

I know where to recycle motor and gear oil, but is there a proper procedure or special handling for used ATF? I was going to do a transmission drain & fill on one of my parents' Civic, so I was wondering.

I take it into Napa/Kragen/Autozone and they dispose of it the same way they do with motor oiol.

I just put all oil (motor, gear, trans) in the same container. Fuel and coolant is another story. I will sometimes mix old/bad fuel with my oil, they are all petroleum anyway... You just need to make sure it's super diluted.

ATF is just a light weight petroleum oil with a crap load of detergent, its almost the same as motor/gear oil.
