Spoiler fitment question: 3rd gen. GT wing fit on 1st gen?

Will a third gen. gt wing fit, width wise, on my first gen.? I like the looks of the third gen. gt wing and it looks like the width is right. I know installing one will mean drilling holes in my trunk lid and I'm ok with that, but not totally ok with the wingless trunk. lol I'll add the first gen. trunk width later when I go get it.

Got the measurement of my trunk lid, 51 3/4 inches from side to side at the back of the trunk lid. If a third gen. owner can measure across their trunk lid at the end that would be a huge help. I'm wondering if this wing will fit without leaving any trunk lid between the end of the wing and the side of the body. Picture is from scoobyLDT's mr1.

Take a look in the car archive (member rides I), I bet you could PM someone, it would only take a few minutes, for someone to measure... I have a wagon so I'm not much help..
