Ive been searching with no luck so far. Im trying to find some 330 x 32mm rotors that will fit my OB. Any ideas where i could find such a thing that wont cost me an arm and a leg?

what brackets fit our cars that will take a rotor that big?

Locally? Im looking into using the VW Touareg 6 pot front calipers with 330mm rotor. Theres a few guys on the local subaru forum that do a lot of custom work. If this all comes together im going to have them fab up some brackets.

6 piston calipers for WHAT? A 4000lb+ train?
Overkill...

People have put it all together for less than the cost of a pair of front sti brembo's. More braking for less $$

No, it's bigger brakes. Not more braking. Braking power isn't linearly equated with brake size.

Please explain. To me it seems like I would be better off spending less for this brake set up than to buy the STi brembos. No?

You'd have to measure the pistons of the caliper and factor in the rotor size to get a rough estimate of how much much it will shift your brake bias (there's an excel spreadsheet on NASIOC that sort of does it for common brake setups, but you may have to do your own math on this one and I'm just superficially know how its done). But suffice to say your brake bias will shift waay forward and you'll make your braking distance even longer than it is now...that is if your master cylinder is even capable of pushing enough pressure into those toureg calipers to make them bite.
STI brembo front brakes will move the bias towards the front as well, but the sti master cynlinder is only marginally larger than other subaru's so you can get away with using the front brakes...but having all 4 corners is still optimal.
Why not get some brake brackets like what I'm using (global z, they're kind of expensive though, $250) pair it up with some 93-94 nissan 300x calipers (which are cheap, they're the same design and piston size as FHI 4 pots hence why they work) and you can use the sti brembo rotors. Get the rear calipers from the same car, use some KB FHI 2 pot adapters and you have a balanced system that will work...it will still be a little more forward biased.

why do you need brembos on a outback? if you want to stop sooner get some good tires. if your stock brakes can lock a wheel than they are adequate enough to stop the car, now if your brakes tend to fade(mountainous driving, racing, etc) than its a different story.

serious overkill, but they will look cool. you are going to have a hell of a time not locking them up all the time, are you upgrading the master cylinder? the lines? are you getting an adjustable ABS controller? you will need DOT4 for ze German calipers will that mix well with your DOT3 rears?

^ DOT 3 and DOT 4 brake fluid mix perfectly fine.... obviously a full fluid flush should be completed anyway. its DOT 5 that you don't want to be mixing with DOT 3 or 4
but yes 13inch rotors is a bit overkill... may look ballin but probably wont be horribly functional.
Have you ever used good brake pads??? its amazing what the right choice in brake pads will do

Thanks for the info guys. As for why the larger brakes ive been getting into autox and want to upgrade for that. Right now im using hawk pads which i love! Ill probably end up just going w/ bremebos.

Again, you won't need bigger brakes - plus, have you considered that a much larger bigger brake will simply bump you UP into a class that your car and you are totally unprepared for?
Big brakes are just allowing you to dissipate heat quickly, NOT stop in a shorter distance - a typical autox course you're trying maintain a high average speed, jabbing the brake in order to help shed velocity, not lock up the wheels.
Get a great set of tires and suspension, and some aggressive brake pads. Your tires are the best item you can spend money on for an autoxer. Your pads won't get hot enough to take advantage of the big brake caliper/rotor. Your tires are what make you stick, not your brakes.
