Leather heater seats in a Brighton?

Just bought a 1996 Brighton wagon that the owner had installed leather seats into. When I look under the drivers seat I can see two plugs hanging down, one white, one black, both with only two wires. Is this seat a heated seat? if so is it possible to get it working in a Brighton?!

i believe that is them. i think most subarus with leather seats are heated. and yes you can get them too work. get the switch for your center console and wire it up. subaru ihas been known to make all the wiring harnesses the same so some times all you have to do is get all the components and plug them in. but this is all speculation. i dont know 100%

No, you're right. If it was an option on a higher end model in that model year, you probably have the wiring in your car that came without the feature. It was less expensive for Subaru to make 'em all the same way. I know a guy who took the fake plate (where the tachometer goes) out of his guage cluster on his 95 brighton and the wiring was all right there for a tachometer, plug 'n play. I think the switch was right by the parking brake, so there should be some wiring hiding out there too. One other way to check is to look for a relay that might handle the heated seats and see if it's installed. If there's wiring and a relay, it should be pretty easy.

ie: In 1995MY, there was no keyless entry on any model, so my 95 doesn't have any wiring for the keyless module, even though it has power locks. No actuator or wiring for it in the driver's door either, because you actuated the unlocking with the driver's door only.

Doesn't look like the wireing is under my center console. I'll prob just have to wire it up all on it's own. What fuse was supposed to control the heated seats? My car doesn't have any accessories but all the fuse places are filled with what it supposed to be there. Didn't see any mention of heated seats though.

Heated only for passenger.
Thats what the plugs are for.

not sure if they are the same, but not one BK/BD GT in North America got heated seats, nor did they get the wiring... I'm running into this problem as well.. I have all the parts and wiring to make them work, but I have to re-wire that part of the car to make them work...

To do this the RIGHT way, you will need to find an Outback with heated seats and get the harnesses out of it. It's a royal PITA but it can be done. I got everything for the mirrors, but not yet for the seats...

I have better luck finding people on these forums shipping me small parts and switches than I do locally. A fella just sent me everything I needed to add cruise, so I am looking to find most of the bits to do a pretty stock install. I did a lot of googleing last night and apparently it's realyl easy to do, but I just need to SEE the wiring so I can have that image in my head.

The cruise was so easy and plug and play I might have my expectations set to high for this one!
