I'd like an answer for this as well. I have wrx wagon springs sitting around I'd like to out on.

I swapped my strut over to a WRX and love them. On my 95 L they did lower me just a hair I think. They feel amazing. If I wanna go lower I will just buy lowering springs that are for what year WRX my suspension was off of.

I've seen wrx springs "lower" 2nd gen legacy's to about stock legacy GT ride height. Take a look at HeresMyMind's car here in the FS thread:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=22565

They also improve handling over stock legacy springs.

Nice thing with WRX struts is it opens up a big selection of springs. There is a difference between the 02-03 and 04+ (not sure if 06-07 is different as well) WRX struts and springs. Im running the softer 02 set but I love em. They added exactly what I wanted.

04+ rear springs are more narrow at the top. You can use them but you need matching upper spring perches. IIRC the front springs are the same through all years.

I just put 02 Wagon springs/Struts on my car and it looks like pure shit. The front end has over a fist wheel gap and the rear is around 3 fingers.

I think they make spacers for that. Have you compressed the suspension: driven it to make sure the springs and struts settle? Sometimes they'll stick up too high until they've been driven.

Picture? I've been interested in doing this.

I honestly don't think they make a spacer big enough. After a night of sitting, and driving it around today the rear end has settled at the same height as the STI springs I had and the front is just at 3 fingers. I'm considering putting my stock wagon springs in the rear to level out the stance a bit because my main motivation for this was getting clearance for rally and as it sits right now the rear end is far too low.

I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them up.
