say hello to my 96 wagon with 208k on the clock
its leaking from the water pump so probably need to replace that
and the front door locks are kinda quirky and weird but besides that a great daddywagon
this is how it looked the minute i bought it with the stock 14s
http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/294389_10150775701180475_868860474_20815272_5734811_n.jpg
and then an hour later on some 16s
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/301997_10150779148360475_868860474_20847289_5564589_n.jpg

probably guna save up for some raceland coilovers
but i cant decide on wheel sizes yet--was considering slamming it on 18x8.5+35s
heres my previous car

thanks guys!
ima be a daddy soon and the 240 had no a/c and super stiff suspension
figured it was time to grow up and get something more family oriented
im really guna miss it though-i sold my hatch for 3200 and got the wagon for 2200
then bought the 16s and tires for $100
i just hope the dealership doesnt try to rape me on changing the waterpump
since the part itself is only like $50

Welcome new guy. Not too many Legacy guys from the Midwest.

And those WRX wheels make all the difference.

09-07-2011, 05:50 PM
yeah the 16s look like they shoulda came that way from the factory
and the car is actually from utah i think so its imported =P

240_benzo
10-27-2011, 02:32 PM
got my coils! put them on and love them(for the price)
they can go suuuper low but they are hella bouncy compared to the buttery smooth stocks =P
i finally got stickers made--woot!

I'm a sucker for lowered wagons lol. Looks great!

Looks good! next step is change wheels

subie/legacy
10-28-2011, 05:18 AM
Nice stance. You should start a members ride I thread.

240_benzo
10-29-2011, 11:25 AM
yeah wheels would definatly be the next obvious choice =D
but im thinking about trying to get another lego/outback wagon with less miles
mine has 210 and its leaking tranny fluid and is burning off the exhaust and i just duno how much i trust it =/
but well see how things go..no matter what im sticking with some suby wagon though

240_benzo
11-02-2011, 11:37 AM
sooo should i paint the wheels black or leave them??!

Huffer
11-02-2011, 12:23 PM
Super white is my first choice.
The ride is probably bouncy because of the linear springs. Can you adjust rebound on those shocks at all?

240_benzo
11-02-2011, 12:29 PM
you cant really do white very good without taking off the tires and doing them fully
as you see by my s13, obviously white wheels are something i love
but black would allow me to be lazy and wont really show any dirt =P
so im just trying to decide if the current color or black would look better ha

and the springs are just alot stiffer than stock..i wish i could just put my stock springs on them haha
description of coils:
• Individual threaded shock bodies
• Optimized shock valving
• Adjustable front camber plates
• Pillow ball upper strut mounts
• Brake hose and ABS mounting bracketing
• Epoxy powder coated coil springs
• Blue silver zinc plated shock body
• Anodized spring seats
• Spring Rate: Front 450 lbs/inch
• Spring Rate: Rear 280 lbs/inch
• Two year warranty

Huffer
11-02-2011, 01:29 PM
Ehh, it's just a paint color. You can do any color paint with the tires still mounted, I use the index card method with good results.

MarkSubi
11-02-2011, 04:47 PM
Can your coilovers go any lower then that?

240_benzo
11-02-2011, 05:39 PM
about 4" lower ha

MarkSubi
11-02-2011, 08:16 PM
Oh damn badass :] mkay I think those are what I'm going to get then.

240_benzo
11-03-2011, 10:52 PM
cant beat it for the money!
hopefully it warms up so i can do my wheels black soon!

240_benzo
11-04-2011, 02:13 PM
im trying to do some research on some specific wheel/offset fitments
but i dont really just wana start a new thread on this lol
i found some wheels that i REALLY love-the design, color, and overall style.
http://www.wheeltrends.com/images/mb%20viper.jpg
but i really dont like the sizes of them.
i originally wanted to run a 17/18" wheel say a 18x8.5+35 or 17x8.5+20 but they all run $6-700
these are 17x7.5+40 and only 461 shipped with lugnuts and valve stems
i just dont think they are guna be flush enough and ill just be ashamed lol
i defiantly dont want to run spacers or more than a degree or two of camber

any tips or pics to help me out? =]

240_benzo
11-05-2011, 11:32 AM
i think ima probably just go ahead and get these when i can and try to tuck rim =]
then go for more flush later on

240_benzo
11-08-2011, 02:57 PM
they should fit okay and look super sick tucked behind the rim
these are a 18x7.5+48 on a 06 wrx wagon
so i think a 17" with +40 offset should look decent slammed =]

Huffer
11-08-2011, 03:56 PM
17" really fills the BK wheel arch nicely. As long as you are eliminating wheel gap, and not sticking outside the fender lip (aka toy truck look) then the wheel will look very nice.

Those wheels you posted on Nov 4th remind me of factory Mustang wheels... pretty nice.

BTW. Update your profile and include your location, mr Oklahoma.

240_benzo
11-08-2011, 04:50 PM
will do!
and id rather go super slammed on some 18s but
these 17s are a steal once i get some more income

MarkSubi
11-08-2011, 05:36 PM
Yeah man I really love where your going with this, will be trying to do some sick stance with my leggy as well Just need a little more cash for the coils, oh and did you install them your self? or did you have a shop do it.

240_benzo
11-09-2011, 10:44 AM
i did it completely myself on the fronts and i had a friend help on the rears cus i couldnt do it with my impact
leggys coming up! i think it already looks really nice slammed on the RS wheels
but these wheels im looking at will be 1.3" wider with the slightly lower offset
and should have 2mm more clearance on the inside of the wheel

MarkSubi
11-09-2011, 12:40 PM
Cool, did you need to aline your car once it was done? and also I noticed you don't have the plastic gards underneath your car, buy taking the ones out that are under the fender would that give the tire more room as it not scraping on it?

240_benzo
11-09-2011, 01:49 PM
Yeah! i still have my fender liners in for now...im constantly rubbing on them ha
and im sure it could use an allignment but i havent yet...i just adjusted the camber as close to 0 as possible

MarkSubi
11-09-2011, 02:18 PM
Ah okay I wanted to know about the alignment thing becasuse my car its self now needs one and was wondering if I should just get it alinged or wait till the coils are on it.

240_benzo
11-09-2011, 02:46 PM
i would defiantly wait on that
most things im really bad about waiting on
like i looove these r8 replica wheels for my car but they are out of stock right now
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/11/oeaudia8gm3ps-1.jpg
so ill probably go with the ones i posted before ha

MarkSubi
11-09-2011, 04:43 PM
lol ah ight and haha nah I can wait. :P but yeah when it comes to wheels I'm not totally sure what I'm going to get but I am really thinking about getting some MB battles for my car but not sure yet.

240_benzo
11-10-2011, 02:15 PM
oh are you converted to 5x114 or something? my friend just ordered battles for his civic in 17x9.5
i know drag makes the same style wheel though in 5x100

MarkSubi
11-10-2011, 07:02 PM
They only come in 5x114? damn, and nah I have the regualr 5x100. Yeah I haven't really done my homework on wheela yet but will once the coils are on the subie.

ive got a WRX, and a BG5, but my BG5 isnt getting coilovers, probably just STI springs.

240_benzo

i lowered the coils even more and i haate how bouncy it is! i wish the springs were half the spring rates =[
ill post pics tomorrow tho

Really? Does it fill like you’re on cut springs and sadly if the ride isn't that stiff it almost sounds like we’re getting what we paid for sort of. I want to be SLAMMED but not be bouncing everywhere.

Oh and How much was the shipping?

240_benzo
11-11-2011, 10:31 PM
470 shipped i think?
but very annoyingly bouncy..but it has alot of room to lower
maybe taking away all that room would help haha
but before i lowered the rear more it wasnt too bad

MarkSubi
11-12-2011, 12:27 AM
Ah okay cool and yeah I'm not likeing that I'm hearing the ride being so unstiff lol but I still want to get them.

240_benzo
11-12-2011, 11:34 AM
yeah seeing how it rides as it is..im probably going to get 18s so i dont have to have them as low =[
meh oh well..ill just get some cheap xxrs then i can throw them on my TL too if i want ha
they are only $100 more and an inch taller and wider! cus i dont think im feeling the rota D2 look anymore either
im debating flat black
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/11/521881423-1.jpg

or chrome lip
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/11/52188142N3-1.jpg

MarkSubi
11-12-2011, 12:34 PM
Yeah i fill ya, I still want to get them to see if i could get used to it being so bouncy. I know it was a different car to but I take it the ride is nothing compared to your old 180, witch btw was dope ass hell.

240_benzo
11-12-2011, 12:44 PM
thanks! just cus im bored heres a pic of it before drifting ruined my kit and then went 5 lug

and right before i sold her =[
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/11/6153463940_5f78d6eb4b_b-1.jpg

i really liked the 240 cus the suspension was soo stiff it was really tolerable for me
it would take bumps harder but it defiantly wasnt nearly as the springy bounciness

help me decide on the black or polished lips people!!^^ =D
the only reason i am not immediately going with all black is cus i liked the first wheels i had on my hatch
the polish lip has a nice contrast but i duno if it would go with the goofy wagon look ha

MarkSubi
11-12-2011, 01:24 PM
Damn nice yeah I guess BC coils or maybe even Ksprots would give our subies better ride to it and I love the white wheels that are on the 180 but I take it they went with the car. all blac to me wouldn't look good with the color of the scooby

240_benzo
11-12-2011, 02:45 PM
i duno why they are so bouncy though
the front spring rate is 8k and rear is 5k
it wasnt bouncy like this until i got the rears on and lowered though
heres some recent pics

RS MN
11-12-2011, 02:56 PM
Polished lol.

not a bad setup on the S13. What did it have for a motor?

This is my old one I had... It died drifting... Redtop SR, R-32 seats, s13 Silvia nose swap, VLSD, and some other crap...

I gotta say, I love the s13 coupes so much more than the s13 hatch, but i would love to own either one.

MarkSubi
11-15-2011, 05:01 PM
I love S14s more when it comes to the way the body looks stock but over all I'm a lover of S chassis period.

240_benzo
11-16-2011, 09:59 AM
yeah the 97-98 s14s(kouki) are the most raw--followed by hatches
then the 94-96 s14(zenki) THEN coupes are last..i mean there is ZERO room in those things
me and my friend fit an entire sr20det tranny and motor swap in the back of his hatch =
nice coupe though! i bet it was a super fun to daily

once i get my tax returns and ill have wheels by then probably

MarkSubi
12-01-2011, 05:33 PM
Ah okay and hey how was your packaging when you got the coils in? I just came home and it was at my door and it definitely looked like someone already opened the box its self or put something heavy on it like if the UPS people opened it to see what it was with it being so heavy. I know for sure it wasn't anybody random that tried taking it because it had to black plastic like ties around the box and if it was the Raceland Company’s way of packaging then wow I am disappointed. The coils were wrapped in plastic and bubble wrap but the box and cardboard they were in looked bad.

I am also surprised it came with no instructions. I can figure it out and all but it’s weird and the little instruction paper it did come with was partially ripped. This is my first time buying and actually putting on coilovers to, I’ve messed with plenty of struts and springs.

Hey and do you know where to find reviews and such on the racelands but reviews from someone putting them on a subie? And did you have any double putting them on?

240_benzo
12-01-2011, 06:09 PM
they are superr easy to get on cus i have a wagon ha
up front i used an impact gun and the rears i used a ratchet and wrench
also i needed a hacksaw to cut through the brake line bracket
i just googled a 2nd gen coilover install for a sedan and went step by step since i was a noob too

as far as the packaging..i think ups is SHEET..because mine were packaged super well
BUT the main box and boxes containing the coilovers were dented or busted up

MarkSubi
12-01-2011, 07:33 PM
Oh badass okay then ill be looking for a link on Google to help and yeah I already cut that guard thing on the break line holder on the strut, who ever at Subaru thought of that was stupid lol but anyways yeah your packaging sounds like it looked nicer mine lol the top of the box was taped up and what not but it still looked ripped and the inside boxes looked like someone opened them already sort of lol & hey, I may see something about this when I looked but I noticed everything is already on the coilover but it all fills lose, is it going to be like that until I put them on the car and adjust everything?

240_benzo
12-01-2011, 08:07 PM
well hopefully the lower mounts are loose because i had to adjust mine to line up right on the car
but once you have everything where you want it..tighten the collars down and throw em on
from there the only thing youll need to adjust is the height and front camber plates
just keep in mind the slotted holes on the coilover spindle hole because it will help you adjust camber super easy

MarkSubi
12-01-2011, 08:09 PM
Ah okay so make sure everything is aligned before putting them on and then use the slots in the bolts to know where to adjust the camber?

240_benzo
12-02-2011, 10:02 AM
well yeah they wont bolt up unless everything is lined up
if i take them off and put them on my next car,
im going to lower it about 2-3" on the coil sleeves and then raise up the bottom mount
because if you look at this pic--you can see where the lower mount looks empty
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/12/6285784533_8245772c53_z-1.jpg
i wish i could explain it better..ha

MarkSubi
12-02-2011, 06:52 PM
Its cool bro, ill figure it out some how but if you think of a better way then definitely post it on here.

MarkSubi
12-02-2011, 07:22 PM
This also may be stupid to ask but do i unscrew the very top bolt to take off the top so I can get all the bubble wrap out of the middle part?

240_benzo
12-02-2011, 08:19 PM
nooo
i just meticuliously pulled it out--i got it unstuck from in that rubber under the tophat then pulled/ripped it out ha
i assume the top nut is there just for replacing tophats and disassembling the coil

MarkSubi
12-02-2011, 08:22 PM
Oh okay so tighten the top nut, because there all sort of lose but I think I get what you mean, I actually had to watch a few coilover vids of other coils since I couldn't find any good second gen instructions to know what to do to preready them but what about the front dampers and at the top of the coils is that balljoint like part just for fitment perpouses?

And also how do I stell witch one is for witch side, or does that not matter because its all the same?

240_benzo
12-03-2011, 10:39 AM
sides wont matter i dont think - just put the ones with camber plates up front haha
i acctually think the writeup i saw was on a first gen but its the same thing really.
as far as i know that top nut is just there to tighten up mostly unless you need to mod something
i could easily be wrong though ha. im not sure which balljoint part you're talking about though.
everything should pretty much slide on though once the stock suspension is off and assuming they are the correct lengths. the only annoying part was not being able to use my impact in the rear and having to jack up the whole hub assembly to bolt everything up

my first time light painting - came out..meh

MarkSubi
12-03-2011, 07:57 PM
No need anymore I installed them today and am loving them thus far. Not going to lie though your right about the bouncyness of them when on a crappy road or going over a big bump but besides that I'm liking them. still going to do alittle adjusting but I am happy with it, Toucking tire just alittle bit in the rear and the front is alittle bit higher then yours is in the pics but its all good. Not totally sure I have the front camber plates faceing the right direction but that wont be a big deal until i want to give it some camber and also is there away to adjust the rears to give it a cambered like look?

MarkSubi
12-03-2011, 08:03 PM
Damn it, my camber plates aren't facing the right direction.

240_benzo
12-04-2011, 12:24 PM
YEAH you want them adjusted as close to the outside of the car for no camber
plus the coilovers have slotted holes on the lower brackets to adjust the camber a little extra

MarkSubi
12-04-2011, 03:31 PM
Hey witch direction are your camber plates facing? because I tried making them face side to side but it wouldn't go right from side to side so I have them facing forward. Could you take a pic of it?

Hey and have your springs settle yet?

240_benzo
12-05-2011, 11:09 AM
the springs are still being broken in i think--they seem to be getting a little less stiff

heres a pic of bc coils set for full negative camber
http://waltermotorsports.com/d/1435-2/camber%20plate_Large_.jpg

MarkSubi
12-05-2011, 02:56 PM
Yeah I guess I should turn it the other way even though it’s not fully pointing straight side to side but oh well. and Damn don't tell me that :[ lol I do love them so far but at times they are pretty bouncy. I do plan on getting BC coilovers for my subie but that won’t be for awhile, I don't have the cash for those right now. Oh yeah, how stiff do you have yours and this may sound stupid but with racelands are we able to adjust our height without taking it off the car? Because I tried adjusting them like I saw on a YouTube vid and the height barely changed.

240_benzo
12-05-2011, 04:04 PM
hmm i had mine pointing side to side just fine..i didnt think it was possible to mount them on turned the wrong direction =P
and i plan on getting the BC's also since ill be able to select my spring rates to put the higher rates on the rears
im glad they are getting a bit less stiff though since a few of my previous rides to work have been pretty rough

Hm do you think if I losen the middle nut that it will make the plate lose and then I could turn it?

Could I see a pic of yours?

& How do we as in raceland owners have to adjust height, i tried doing so the same way other coils do but nothing happened. I also made a thread asking this.

glad you're getting everything figured out with your car!!!

mines been dying latly and having to be jumpstarted.
itll run fine on the highway but on the main roads at night the headlights and dash will dim with the heater on
the speedo and rpm gauges jump off and on and you can hear the belt squeaking. but its only died going reverse into a parking spot.
so im assuming its either the battery going bad, a loose or going bad belt, or maybe i should check out the tensioner.
im leaning towards the belt being loose though since it just recently started being an issue with the belt squeaking affecting the car

Damn that sucks I hope it gets fixed and done alright. :(
And Thanks yeah lowered the front last night so now it looks even But I need to roll my fenders, my tire is scraping on it when going up my drive way and it sort of is bending back the metal part of the fender right there so need that done before its makes my fenders look like crap or messes up my tires because I'm not raising it :P

240_benzo
12-07-2011, 07:12 PM
i cant wait until i have wheels big enough where id need to roll my fenders! i love rolling/pulling them =]

and im hoping it might just be my belt slipping
it has a small rip in it and and seems to be wearing down in the grooves.
itll run perfect for awhile until i hear the belt squealing

Ah okay, and I was looking at it and if i can bend one little spot back in place i might not need to but idk but I know what you mean. I'm also on my alloys as well but I have the 15" star like alloys that came on the LSI model legacys.

Yeah I don't think I will let, I noticed my passanger side fender covers ( as in the platick inside ) I always forget what its called lol but yeah I noticed on that side its not like and flush with the fender thus probably why it and the metal part of the fender right there was rubbing on my tire because on my front driver side in the same area its all nice and intack this smooth to where even if my tire rubs it, its not going to push or bend anything while turning.

240_benzo
12-14-2011, 12:12 PM
ha my tire bent out my fender a tiny bit on the front passenger side
thank goodness my car just needed my tensioner to be adjusted..the belt was much looser than i assumed
no more getting stranded at work! ha

MarkSubi
12-14-2011, 04:35 PM
Oh dang yeah on both sides my tire bent a little area of the fenders inside the fender so you can't see it from the outside but yeah I need to roll the front ones so that doesn't get any wores.

ima probably just keep the highmilage wagon even though itll very seldomly get hot and the whole car shakes when its in drive and im at a light(automatic) ugh lol so now tax season is coming up and i cant deicde on wheels! bling or black lol

all of these are under 750 a set - all 18x8.5+35

stern st-6 $566 18x8.5+35

ADR-95 SPARTAN $566 18x8.5+35

Stern ST-11 $712.50

XXR 521 $568 18x8.5+35

R8 Replica $608 18x8+35
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/01/repr8smfang-1.jpg

IM SOOO damn indecisve...but im planning on running 215/35 all around which is about 300 a set
so how much i get back on my taxes will be a big factor but assuming i get 1000 i can get any of these
im REALLY loving the ADR wheels for the price but i just duno if ill be able to get them to flow with the car
if i was a little better in photoshop id just mock all of them on ha

MarkSubi
01-17-2012, 01:57 PM
I say go with the Stern ST-11 or R8 Replica. Id choose these out of the list.

240_benzo
01-17-2012, 02:12 PM
you're fast xD lol
i really love the sterns and privats but they are obviously the most expensive
if i only get 800 or so back on my taxes ill have to get one of the under 600 wheels..
time will tell! do you even think chrome could be pulled off??..being really low obviously..a modest vip look? =P
maybe some ultrawhite bulbs, sideskirts, front lip, and outback scoop hood would make it aggressive enough to pull em off

this should show you the difference of my current/future wheel setup..pretty cool numbers! :smt025

same wheel/tire height running going from 16s to 18s basically
and then ill be able to take out the fender liners and slam it

MarkSubi

Nice Yeah I so can't wait to go lower. lol

240_benzo
01-17-2012, 07:00 PM
i havnt lowered the fronts at all..i have like 4" to go if i wanted haha
i just duno what type of wheel a stock body wagon could pull off
i definatly wana modd it once i get some extra cash though

been searching through the local vw forums and finding some okay deal on wheels
might see if i can trade my wheels to this guy for his 18x7.5+38 wheels and some cash on my end

They look alright, How big are they?

240_benzo
01-19-2012, 04:23 PM
18x8.5+38
which is 29.7mm wider according to willtheyfit.com but
according to MY math they are wider 1"(width of wheel) + 17"mm(difference in offset of wheel)
which is like 42mm wider than the wheels im currently running
and heres a pic of how flush i am at present time with 16x6.5s
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/01/6284418372_0f12f8c063_b-1.jpg
with no camber and tucking rim they would look pretty nice with the green on white

MarkSubi
01-19-2012, 06:14 PM
Nice and hey it looks like your rear wheels are doing the same as mine, as in there not straight, one is pointing in alittle and the other pointing out witch is the rear one you see in the pic.

240_benzo
01-19-2012, 06:45 PM
i THINK it might just be the angle but ya..i have some negative upfront and the rears are at/close to 0
in formula D it appears sometimes they have positve camber even though they dont have any and it just looks really odd

MarkSubi
01-19-2012, 06:49 PM
Well I think its something that happened during install. I got an alignment a week after I put them on and that next day I noticed that they were still like the way I describe in that last post.

240_benzo
01-19-2012, 07:06 PM
if you look close its perfectly(as the suspension allowed me to do) to 0 camber
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/01/6337476441_98a55105f5_b-1.jpg
i duno how your alignment specs came out but
if you notice we have slotted brackets on our coilovers..
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/01/DriftSpecCoiloverBracket-1.jpg
you can adjust the rear and front camber in this way but i have mine set to 0(as close to the car as possible)

MarkSubi
01-19-2012, 07:09 PM
Wait how? this is probably what I need to do, like I get what your saying I just don't get how I will know I'm at 0 or whatever number I want.

240_benzo
01-20-2012, 10:21 AM
i do the same besides much more simplified..just loosen up the top bolt he shows you that you can adjust
then just push it left(standing behind the driverside wheel) for positive or right for negative
some people make the slot even larger to give more adjustment but i wouldnt recommend much if any

MarkSubi
01-20-2012, 10:46 AM
Yeah idr but if the coilover has a little slot already I may try that. I wouldn't mind doing what he did in the video but right now
I don't have the cash to risk messing someting up so id rather make do with what I can and have.

And there has to be away I can go lower with the stockies and the tire size I have right now.

gota chose on wheels NOW since i got 1400 back from my taxs
i gotta decide on if i should get a 5x100 18x8.5 for 329 shipped or

240_benzo
02-01-2012, 12:10 PM
i guess ill post this here too but..the only reason im asking is because
as hideous as they are...i think im guna get them. 5x100 18x8.5+35 for 329 shipped. wrapping them in 215/35s
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/02/stellarch_287792_thumb-1.jpg
dual lugs are guna run around 550 for wheels alone

but i wana go for a look similar to this..besides ill be shiner and more concave..which i can live with

a set of these 18x8.5+20(too aggressive?) TT replicas for 380 shipped
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/02/0816111455-1.jpg
or these 18x8+40 which are dual lug for 450! 120 cheaper than the xxrs and i think they might fit better and MAYBE tuck in the rear

WHAAAAAAAT! please don't let this happen to me. :smt120

Damn that sucks!!! >.< , I have noticed something sort of scary on one of mine to be honest, while working on the car all of my tophats are fine but my tophat that's on the rear coilover on the passenger side oddly has little rust spots on the silver part underneath the black part of the tophat. I hope the others don't start doing that, especially since that's the one tire that was cambered in before I make mine lower and cambered all of them in alittle.

240_benzo
02-17-2012, 10:02 AM
they said it was because the height needs to be adjusted on the bottom mounts and not the spring..which i did
the fronts were only lowered maybe .25" so i dont know of any reason why that would have happened
i put my stock back on and im back on the road.
AND IN BETTER NEWS, I ORDERED MY WHEELS
i LOVE ebay...that whole buy it now or make an offer just saved me almost $90!

MarkSubi
02-17-2012, 03:31 PM
Yeah a friend ended up telling me about the bottom mount thing but still, what do they mean buy adjusting it from the spring? all i did was set the preload when I messed with the spring. also where exactly did it break off at and how was the middle nut, was it lose or anything?

240_benzo
02-17-2012, 05:15 PM
the nut on the coilover camber plate was snapped off
the whole tophat was snapped off right above the spring
...oh and btw..we had some snow last week ^_^

Can't complain for the price. I just stick to Falken 512s based on their size and stretch. Hopefully I can get wheels on this weekend.

Man those racelands are a good price!! What ones fit your car? Cuz from what I can tell they don't make them for the legacy.

Hey hows your ride now? any different since your on low pros.

240_benzo
03-15-2012, 08:23 AM
it rides really good since i have it almost all the way up in the rear! lol now i just gotta lower it with the lower spindle this weekend!

MarkSubi
03-15-2012, 09:32 AM
Can you even go lower now? it looks like unless you pull your fenders, your car isn't going any lower.

Oh and on the muffler don't paint the dip but paint the fat part of the muffler. i did that to the new one I have and I love how it looks that way. Just cover the tip and the inlet up with painters tape and then use black header paint for it and have at it.

240_benzo
03-15-2012, 10:48 AM
i havnt rolled my fenders yet! i just added max camber all around and it fit fine-ish lol
gota take out the fender liners, take off the mudflaps, roll fenders, and lower it.
i should have my side skirts by next weekend and exhaust comes in today!
ill probably just keep as is cus its so sexy and clean.ill just say its a stock sti muffler

SOOOOO....dude...seriously(i know this sounds super bro up to this point)
this muffler if FACCCCKING MASSIVE..let me see what the dimensions it says on the ebay add..
it weighs a good 20-30 lbs(i may be exaggerating) but it is seriously like for a truck or something xD
it say...4" tip 24.5" length 11" width 6.5" height..welll yah that sounds about right..its just HUGE
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2012/03/6987126187_a327b9687f_z-1.jpg
notice its size compared to my oil change container and size 10 snow boarding boots lol
but in other news..without even lowering it more...i cant stop looking at my car
it looks so good in person-way better than crappy cellphone pics

MarkSubi

Now I think my front right side coilover is doing something odd. This started Saturday night but when I turn the left at times I hear a rubbing noise coming from the front right of my car. I took it to one of the shops I somewhat trust and they said my ball joints and tie rods were fine. They were just like its coming from the shock witch of cores that's my coilover so I'm going to check it out at school tomorrow.

240_benzo
04-10-2012, 01:28 PM
good luck! i cant decide if i wana get a lip, skirts, or tint first lol

MarkSubi
04-10-2012, 01:59 PM
Checked it and I'm thinking I may need an alginment because it could be due to rubbing of the tire but while typing this apart of me sort of fills it could be my hub barring.

WHY do you usually post pics from the one side you ask??
because my lugnut broke off before i could remove the wheel to adjust the camber in the rear =[
working on adding camber and going lower all around for CCM13
tucking to come hopefully!
