Legacy Hatch lever?

So you know how all the sedans came with a trunk lever to pop the trunk inside the car? Has anyone fitted one to a wagon to pop the hatch from in the car? If not I'm seriously thinking of doing a DIY for this. In the words of all wise Jeremy Clarkson, how hard can it be? :lol:

Instead of a cable lever, what about an electric one?

I hadn't thought about an electric one, I figure the cable lever would be relatively easy to set up since most of it is already built. I'd probably have to custom make all of the electric one :neutral:

Not to much custom work needed for the trunk.
Solenoid, reciever and transmitter and a 12v source is everything you need.

You'd need to relocate some hatch struts too - remote and in-cabin trunk releases make the trunk/hatch actually pop up a bit - on the Legacy hatch the struts are positioned in a way to ensure the hatch doesn't fall, but the angle of them isn't conducive to actually opening slightly. You still have to pull up.

I think I'm getting what you're saying, I just want it to pop out like the sedans trunk pops up but now that I think about it (derp I feel smart) it more it just makes more sense for me to fix my hatch pull thing on the back of the trunk :smt021 However, I can't wait to see Garrison's write up if he does such a thing! :smt026
