so im finishing my exhaust on wednesday, and i need to make a choice on a cat

the shop wants 500 for a flowmaster highflow OEM replacement..

autozone wants 200-250 for a universal highflow..

ebay has tons for under 60 shipped..

whats the difference? and why the hell are the prices so crazy?

are the ebay ones junk?

The higher the price usually reflects the material used in the cat itself.

Usually the inner cores are made of palladium or platinum which are precious metals that scrub the emissions out of your exhaust :-D

So to sum this up a low quality cat will have less precious metals which makes means their cores are less efficient compared to a higher quality unit that has more metals and finer screens.

Ebay units are not junk they just clog faster then the higher quality units.

If you decide to OEM style, get the Stromung Hi-Flow cat from www.boxer4racing.com (http://www.boxer4racing.com)
