04 sti question

Ok, so i know this is not legacy related, but i know tons of folks on here have knowledge about all subaru and am hoping someone can help me out. I am wanting to trade my 17x7.5 48mm 56.1 hub bore 5x100 Rota Torques for 04 sti 17x7.5 5x100 BBS rims. My question is will the Torques clear the brembos. I have found mixed results. According to Wheeldude they will fit the 04 STI sedan, according to ASPEC wheels they will fit the 04 sti sedan. BUT, according to a few forums i have searched they will not fit or nobody has tried it and is not sure if they will. Anyone know anything about these rims and if they will fit. Thanks

The 04 STI BBS wheels are 17x7.5", ET53
Your Torques are 17x7.5 ET48

Your Torques will clear brembo brakes.

Make sure your torques are the 17x8 version. Those are the ones that are sure to fit over Brembo brakes. Some of rota's 17x7.5 wheels won't fit over brembos, Rota attacks and Rota Tarmac I's (the II and III do fit however) for example. It has more to do with the thickness and curvature of the spokes to keep the caliper from rubbing. I don't think the 17x7.5 version of the torques will fit, but your best bet is to search the NASIOC wheel/tire forum for answers, I'm sure this has been touched on in the past.

If it's a few mm's, I've heard of people shaving their calipers a bit. I wouldn't do too much tough...

they dont fit :(, took mine off and test fit them on an 04 sti, 1 thred to go and pow, bit the caliper. Oh well, looking for someone to trade me that has these on a non sti car
