Hi all, just bought a '95 Legacy L AWD wagon for the wife and I to drive (mostly her). We've just moved up to Port Orchard, WA from Hayward, CA as I took a new job here. Her car got totalled about a week and a half before I moved her and all our stuff up here over Labor Day weekend so we bought this figuring it would be good in the wetter weather (and occasional snow). I'm actually moving back to my home area (grew up out near Shelton) and she's from the Philippines so hasn't had any experience with snow driving.

The last 10 years I worked in the auto restoration business mostly working on vintage race cars and exotics, took a job at the local naval shipyard (where I had originally done my apprenticeship as a machinist/mechanic) due to the 31% pay raise and 25% lower cost of living.

Here's a pic of me at my former employer, working on a Ferrari 288 GTO engine.

This is a pic of the Legacy... guy I got it from had bought it from the original owner for his son to drive. Son liked his motorcycle better so he sold the car to me. Came with a maint/repair record book with every maintenance/repair done to the car since it was new. Has 236,600 miles on it and everything works!

My other two toys are a daily driver/track toy '97 Miata, soon to be turbo'd, and a '67 International Travelall which will be getting restored and converted to 4x4.

Hope to learn lots of Subaru specifics from you all, and share some of the knowledge I've gained working on car over the last 30 years or so.

I LOVE that Miata. Small, lightweight cars are the best!

Welcome to SL-i!

Thanks for the warm welcomes...

There were definately a lot of cool things about it... like working in a big candy store, unfortunately the pay sucked and the guy that owned the place was a total pain to deal with and took all the fun out of it (for me and the 30+ people who hired/quit in the 6 years I worked there). The new job isn't as glamorous but working on jillion dollar warships has its cool moments too.

Ya I love it too.... can't drive it at the moment as I messed up my knee and had surgery on it. Until the knee immobilizer comes off, can't drive the Miata OR the truck. As the knee feels better I'll be spending some time cleaning up the Legacy and starting work on installing turbo bits on the Miata.
