Hi Guys,

I want to paint the crank pulley cover but I can't get the last bolt off of it. I just need to loosen it a bit to be able to slip the bracket out of it. It's the one that also holds part of the alternator. It seems to have a stopper at the back but I can'T figure out how to remove it. Any ideas?

(in red in the picture, the stopper is behind the alternator)

Thanks

A 14mm socket from the front. You don't need to hold the bracket in the rear to turn the bolt out. The bracket will fall away when you get the bolt out, so either hold it in place or have a magnet ready to retrieve it.

or 14mm closed end wrench

Ok... but it's normal you have to force it? I'm 6'2", 260 lbs and I can put some weight on things, but I don't like to have stuff break in my hands... I've tried already and it won't budge, but I was affraid to throw my weight into it... any suggestions not to break the bolt?

Thanks

Yeah, some Kroil oil, seafoam, PB blaster, or equivalent, spray it down a ton, wait, spray some more, wait, then try removing the bolt again.
