Not VIN. What does the Applied Model Code say? Here: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=17332 (http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=17332)

The VIN is different for different markets. The Applied Model Code is universal. Which is why they say to look at that on the back of catalogues (click thumbnail):

A 2.5L NA 3rd gen Legacy (or Outback) wagon will always be BH9.

Interesting.... Looked at mine again... It's also a BH9. Why does it have BH6 in the VIN if its a BH9?

Toyota and Nissan must be a bit different with chassis codes...

It's because like I said - VIN and model codes are different. I can promise you that your Toyotas and Nissans over there have nothing like the VINs over here. So I have a feeling they would be different from model codes over there too since model codes are supposed to be universal (but I haven't looked, so I don't know for sure).

They are a little different with some of them, but some are the same. I know AE86's are the same as far as I know. S13's are close, My 91 s13 coupe was a RPS13 and if I remember right they are the same there.

I'm finding this vary interesting actually!
