HI All, I've been searching but no luck. Just bought/installed baja hood and scoop on my 2002 legacy. But need to do something about the hood scoop hole? Need to block off? Does anyone know what I can order? Thanks again!

Just leave it open, it won't really hurt anything.

Or you could put an intercooler under there.

Install a mesh screen.

Id block it off, water hitting your engine has the capability of dripping onto your coil pack.

I agree with the intercooler idea.

But who am I to talk, I want a hood scoop too, but I don't have the cash to get an actual GT motor. Could you post pictures sometime of this? I wanna see how it turns out.

-edit-

Even though it might take some custom modification, i've been toying with the idea of making the hood scoop feed air directly into the airbox (since the airbox is right there on our model). But I haven't figured out how to do that yet. In theory, it would just take a custom molded piece of plastic (or material of your choosing) in some sort of "U" shape. But im sure its a lot harder than im thinking it is.

I know the impreza 2.5rs and the gt bg/bd's have the scoop on the hoods with an NA engine.

people have done the hoodscoop/intake thing already, its in the N/A section.

I don't know, if you really want to rock the scooped hood with an N/A engine, just get some sheet steel from homedepot and cut a blockoff plate using some shears.

97-99 OB and GT's have a block off plate for the scoop... I'm sure it can be retrofitted and made to look clean..

what about water?

Like huffer said you have the possibility of getting your coil pack wet also you knock sensor but if both of these items are in good condition or been replaced recently there is no harm.

A few of my friends are running oversized STi scoops about (4-5) inches tall and they have been scooping up water, dirty, snow, ice, salt all with no harm done.

But lets be real.. all the water that gets scooped in just lands on your main airbox cover so this really wont hurt your situation.
