Question 1: does anybody have a good condition working antenna mast?
Question 2: Who on here has replaces there stock radio/cd player heads with another year or type of legacy radio head. I'm asking this question because when I got my car I had the stock radio cassette and CD player in my car but later on replaced it with a removable radio head and added the little cd case holder thing that goes under the radio head due to the nobs being gone and the stock raido head and the cd player not being able to read and pick up discs, But now id like to try to put back some sort of stock radio head in but want to know what other year of legacy's radio heads would fit my 95 BD legacy's space for it. Yes I would like it to be the radio cd player and wouldn't mind the cassette player to.
P.S Also with anybody that has any of the stock cd players in their car, does it read all types of CDs like burnt cds and random ones like that?

I'm 99.9% sure any pre-2008 Subaru radio will fit. I had an OEM unit from a 03 WRX in my 98 Legacy for the longest time. The harness is the same so just toss it in and go.

Question 1: Yes. I use it all the time.
Question 2: and 1DIN or 2DIN Subaru head unit up till 2006 will fit and work. For any CD only player, you should make sure your burned CDs are disc mastered and not open session for maximum compatibility. CDs are lame though. MP3/data disc players are better, and those usually come with a 3.5mm aux plug in for your MP3 player or iPod.
PS. it's "thread" not "tread"

Do you have a wagon or a sedan? I have one for a wagon...
You can also do the stubby antenna mod too... I did it and I LOVE it.

I have a sedan so yup the one that goes up and down. If i wanted that I wouldn't need to do anything because mines is still on but very low thus its its own stubby antenna, I want one so it can and will work and go up and down like its intended to do.

The real question is why you want a subaru HU. Like Huffer said, a cheap aftermarket unit will be more powerful, play MP3's and probably have an aux in. Unless you're building a concourse show car (which you're not because you're looking at units from different generations) I don't really see the point.

Here you go...

FYI, I sourced a new one too for my sedan and after driving around with it for a couple days, realized that it was only a matter of time before something happens and it gets bent... so I switched to stubby and sold my sedan antenna.

I bet anything you can get a new mast at Subaru for somewhat a reasonable price... I have with my 240sx's in the past. You gotta remember, people get then broke off all the time when they do the automated car washes.... So they sell them all the time...
I'm also looking for a replacement OEM HU for my 2000 for when I sell it. I used a 99 Forester one in my 97 BD l I had. My Limited 98 HU that came i my BD kinda plays Burn CDS. but then I got irritated and went and got a nice Kenwood... haha

You cannot buy just the mast from SOA... only the entire unit motor and all.

Some people like the look and larger buttons of OEM stuff. Stock CD players will read Burn'd CD R's but not RW's and only in audio format not MP3, newer ones will read MP3 CD's but most OE decks will not read CD RW's
