o2 sensor question

ive recently been tinkering with my exhaust and came across a problem where i broke a wire for the rear o2 sensor. that being said i unplugged it for now so i was throwing a code. then my exhaust had came apart being really loud. due to lack of funds right now i used some steel pipe laying around and welded up a cat delete pipe. now i dont have either front or rear sensor pluged in for now. my question is, will this effect anything in a harmful way? i know prob gas millage but anything else?

Besides harming the environment your motor will perform without issue.

The oxygen sensors role is to check the efficiency of the catalytic converter.

I say you're good but then again your killing the environment :-p

I'll say this before other do..

You car stinks..
You exhaust is extremely loud.
You could possibly be pulled over for random inspection
You could possibly get fined by your local vehicle department for emission failure.

I am not saying go install 2 o2 sensors but you should at least order a cheap-o hi-flow cat so you can attempt to scrub your emissions and give the illusions that you have a cat.

Chuck, I thought the front o2 sensor also helped fuel mapping?

I've always heard the rear is the one that's just for the cat efficiency.

Front checks before the cat. Rear checks after the cat.

With both signals sent to the ecu it is able to check efficiency.

When the rear outputs a low signal the ECU reports a flashing CEL which indicates a clogged cat.

Sure in the end it does change fuel maps but it miniscule compared a knock sensor failure.

As subleg69 stated he knows he will get bad fuel mileage.. this would be the fuel mapping you are referring to.

Either way even if you ran no cat / exhaust / o2 sensors / headers.. your motor will run.. it will work and will not suffer from any damage.. It will not perform to factory spec but hey you can chug along.

Yea now thinking about it im gonna just buy a cheap hf cat and put that in and cut the resonator out.
