I'm sure this has been covered ad nauseum, but I have a very frustrating problem that has been bugging my scoob for a while now. The fuel pump sometimes just refuses to prime. There is no rhyme or reason to it, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Some of you may recall this was the same issue I had a few months ago and after bench-testing the pump, it whirred up like there was no problem.

SO, the story. Today, I finally managed to nail down the oil leak my turbo had (oil feed line fitting threads were stripped and the oil feed line wasn't able to be fastened down all the way), the car ran absolutely fine. Idled great, rev'd just as it should. I shut the car off. Close the hood, put a few things away and then try to restart it, no fuel pump "whirring noise". Well, I kind-of had an idea where to start, so I check the connections to the pump and this is what I find:

I'm not an electrical engineer or anything, but that looks like a short, and overheating at the terminal to me.
Also, where the F is the pump relay? I took apart the drivers side dash searching for it (until I noticed that the Haynes manual read "1990-94 models", on the diagram I was using). The 95+ doesn't have a note at all for where the relay is located.
Also, though I know it isn't conclusive. SB1 and SB2 tested fine under the hood.
