Vibration on take-off...torque bind?

I've been having a hard clunk/vibration on take off recently...It only happens when I come to a complete stop, and it also vibrates when slowing down (but only from like 10-0 mph). It really sounds like a bad u-joint but there doesnt appear to be any play in the rear driveshaft or the carrier bearing and it doesn't vibrate at any other speeds like I would expect a bad u-joint to.

The car does have torque bind issues - they have been going on for quite a while but the clunking/vibrating just started a few weeks ago.

A bit of background on the car/what's been done since the problem started: It's a 2000 Legacy L Wagon, Auto trans (4EAT? Im bad with the abbreviations).

- Front CV axles were replaced (they weren't horrible but they were starting to click pretty bad)
- transmission mount was replaced
- changed the transmission fluid/added Lubegard (I've done this before to try to cure the torque bind, didnt help)

I also checked the rear differential bushings, doesnt appear to be any play there. Any ideas? Could this problem be torque bind related?

Motor mounts maybe? They could shake at low rpms on takeoff.

If the fluid change didn't fix your Tq-bind issues, then your transfer clutch packs are fried or your DutyC solenoid is bad. Either way you should source a replacement transmission.

Sounds like you have multiple issues going on though.

Good call on the motor mounts, i'll check them over after work.

Huffer, I agree that the trans needs replaced...I was hoping to nurse this one along until Spring, but I may replace it sooner. It's had torque bind for the past ~20k miles but it's starting to get worse
