So replacing brakes and fluid in the RHD legacy I was feeling each wheel for wobble or play in the bearings. Every wheel besides my driver front felt great. I turn side to side and everything (strut,rotor,caliper,...) turn/sloppy a good 1/4" left to right or side to side. I was like WTF, so after checking my steering rack under where the boot is has a ball pivot joint type and this joint is where all my slop and play is.... It gets better... I find duck tape... No Joke... "attempted" to be used as my steering rack bushings. WTF again. So I got some new whiteline bushings ordered a little bit ago but is there a easy fix to my steering rack? It looks as the ball pivot joint coller unthreads right there and I can replace that section over to my knuckle but not sure. So helpful knowledge is needed!! Inner or Outer tie rod ends or even both need replacement?

Probably inner tie rods. Get underneath the car and grab the tie rod, if there's any play it's time to replace em.

Yeah I spent till 3am reading and searching.. Very limited info but yes, it's the inner with the "ball joint" that goes crap which assuming from running No steering rack bushings for who knows how long tore mine up. Whiteline rack bushings and Moog replacement inner rods on order.

I hear those rack bushings are awesome. It'll probably feel nicer than stock.

If you didn't find the DIY on how to change them:

http://www.scoobymods.com/steering-rack ... ml?p=21235 (http://www.scoobymods.com/steering-rack-bushings-whiteline-t6076.html?p=21235)

I'd link to the DIY I copied from scoobymods, but all the pictures are down. Peaty rewrote it on there, and put up new photos, but you have to be a member to see them. I'll try to get permission from him to get the rewrite over here too, with color photos of course.
