Yes, the solenoid for the front wheels isn't supposed to take an extended higher current so you run the risk of shorting it out. Also, you won't gain any mpg by doing this. No real reason to do this other than for towing.

This^
You don't want to use FWD unless you can't find a towing company with a flatbed.
It's not meant to be driven in FWD mode.
I drive a 5MT, so I don't know how to do it, but I'm sure it's in the owners manual.

The FWD fuse does not allow you to flat tow the car or tow it with two wheels on the ground.
The FWD fuse is to be used when you have the temp spare or any wheel of a different size on the car.
Like they said though, it is not good to use this for an extended time, in SVX's many front diff's grenade after people drive around in FWD for an extended time.
If you need to use it though, on 95-99's, there is a small black "FWD" fuse box along the firewall on the passenger side of the engine bay. Use a spare 20a fuse. I think on newer soob's the FWD fuse goes into a spot on the main underhood fuse box.

Thanks for the info guys. I was just curious about it and what the negative effects would be if done.
