Finally making one.
99 Legacy Outback, I bought it with 118k miles from the original owner. HG's were already done along with the works..... all new seals, resealed oil pump, new water pump, and timing belt. It came with every single little reciept and record from brand new. I even have the MY99 brochure, business card from the salesman, and some other paper work from the dealer.
I was searching for a Legacy wagon for the longest time, found a few but they always had something wrong that I did not want to deal with or couldnt financially. I found Boo on craigslist and it was posted for over a month so I gave it a shot and it was still for sale so I jumped on it! I was beyond happy. Even though it wasnt red and it was auto the car was to good of a deal to pass up..

Slick! I always liked those style WRX wheels. Does that rear dust deflector do anything to help with debris on the rear glass?

Thanks, i got the wheels for a good price too off Nabisco. $200 with good tires one wheel had slight rash. I like the 05 wheels compared to the older WRX wheels.
I never noticed honestly but i can see how the deflector would work. I guess air gets pushed under the deflector from the roof and blows everything off??? Im not sure lol but I have a spoiler to put on...Im a little scared to drill the hatch
I did get the car for a great price. I was shocked and a little hesitant at first but when i looked at it i was in love lol :smt007

No need to drill the hatch. Many adhesives they make now can support the weight of the OEM wing and are very durable!

Thats a great deal! Nice looking car for sure!
I wouldnt be too scared to drill into the hatch. Just find another car that has the same hole drilled at the j/y and make a template. Or find a clean one no one thats the same color...

Really? I don't know if I'd trust that to last for the life of the car.
65pontiac - this WILL help you with the spoiler install: https://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=14713
Also, you will have to figure out what to do with the other holes that are in the top of your hatch from the dust deflector. I don't think the spoiler will cover them up!

Huffer- ive thought about using urethane for the spoiler actually. Ive been back and forth on it. I know it works well, ive used it plenty of times when installing windows on vans lol.
What makes me second guess it is the down force. I know its nothing major but doing highway speeds it deffinatly will have some force pushing on it and i dont want it to fly off haha.
Deadsilvia- thanks for the template idea i might just do that.
Navi- thanks for the link. I have thought about the holes from the deflector, im not 100% what id do to cover them up but ill see when the time comes.
Httrdd- i usualy dont get something unless its a good deal lol. I got my jdm projectors for $110 actually lol. I havnt seen them for less than $150

The wagon has been lowered on STi struts.
front- 04 STi struts, regreased, cut bump stops, Tanabe GF210
rears- stock clunking 06 STi struts. these will be regreased and the bump stops will be cut. im still not sure if i want to drop the rear on the Tanabe springs since it sits level now.
Ingalls camber bolts in the rear. part # 81260 for anyone who wants to know
Found a 99 SUS ltd grill on ebay for $30.
20% tints all around
DDM HID kit on the way
Also looking to get a remote start, keyless alarm unit. Any recomendations?

Videos of exhaust. Just 2 1/4 straight pipe from the cats. I need to get a UEL. It'll sound a lot better.
Thanks Chris I like the grill a lot. Took awhile to find it lol

Hysol 9309.3NA will still be attached to whatever rust is left on the hatch long after it would be unearthed from any archeological site hundreds of years from now with proper preparation.
I love aviation POL  It will probably kill you from too much contact, but it is the best is the business at what it is said to do. Kinda like Alodine 1132 haha.
Love your exhaust BTW, sounds great even without an UEL.

That's when I found out about it lol. When he installed his and posted it. I did find it on eBay actually.
It was complete with the dash housing, sensor, harness, even the little screw covers for the face of the housing.
I was searching for something else and found it lol. They pop up once in awhile

Thanks, it does get attention especially when people find out its a stock y pipe. I'll be getting a UEL soon though. Itll probably be a birthday present to my self lol

Also I wired my fogs to be independent using this thread
http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/80- ... ation.html (http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/80-electrical-electronics/6378-97-ob-fog-light-relay-location.html)
They are 100% independent and shut off when the car turns off. Any questions with that I can help

I really like the direction you are taking this car man! It looks great. You should make a members ride for your other wagon! That orange with the black wheels looks great. It looks like the color that some of the new WRXs have.

No new updates. The car is just going to be my DD for awhile until I get my 65 Pontiac tempest up and running again. Then I'll park this thing and start the swap.
I'll be using my orange 96 as a daily until this one is back together.
No time frame and I just bought this a little while ago. 2013 WRX SE 1 of 200 in the US
