So I joined this site about two years ago when I bought my Legacy. A lot of work has been done to it so I figured I'd share some pics.

Mod list.

-Exterior:
full repaint
turbo hood,spoiler,grill,and wheels
custom badge
JDM fogs
hella supertones

-interior
Generic touch screen stereo head unit
second gen tweeters
new speakers
pioneer 400w amp
two 12" orion subs

-Engine
cosmo racing cold air intake
magnaflow muffler

-Suspension
new GR2's with strut bar on front struts

Then a broken strut. 150,000 mile old struts are not too good for playing in the mud...

replaced it then painted and added a turbo hood and spoiler.

Then two accidents...one was a deer on the highway and then someone at work hit my car. Both in the same week.

Very Nice legacy! I've been looking for the turbo front end for my fist gen wagon, makes those cars look so much different. Also nice ea81 hatch, love those cars, I myself have two ea81 wagons (1982 4x4 and a 1984 FWD) and one 86 brat that is in the process of being EJ swapped with full five lug, putting a lot more work into that then my legacy. But that's had it's share of work done to it as well. Anyway great project can't wait to see more on it!!!

Thanks! Yea the turbo front end probably changed the look of my car the most.

The hatchback is my dad's. I got to learn to drive with that car years ago. It's a 1988 model he bought brand new and put all 195,000 miles on it. I miss the one our family had in the early 90's. it was an '84 turbo GL wagon.

I heard of someone locally putting an EJ22 from a first gen into a hatchback similar to your '86 Brat with good results.

Thought about it...but since I found the jdm fogs, I think it's gonna stay for now.

Good news on the EJ22T swap though. I finally decided that is the engine i'm going with and started collecting parts for it. I plan to have it in by next spring. Just gotta decide on which turbo and supporting mods i need.... :smt017 thinking TD05 or VF39...

Well I've been thinking about the turbo swap, and decided to keep it N/A for awhile. It's a low mileage car (for a first gen legacy) and since I'm thinking about starting college next year, I think it's best to keep the engine as is. Instead, I'm going to work on the current engine and suspension and maybe go to a few autocross events.

Anyways, I added an intake I recently purchased. It made the engine run smoother and it has more torque above 2000 rpm.

Where did the gauge overlays come from?

I got them from another legacy forum used. They use to make them in the '90s I think. They are called Indiglo gauges. The overlays stopped working though. :-(

Since my car didn't come with an airbag, the clockspring had to be turned so the connector fit through the frame of the wheel. So now the turn signals need to be shut of manually. Also had to wire up the plug for the horn from the old steering wheel. Didn't take long though. It's much better than the stock wheel.

Finally got my car back on the road. The automatic transmission quit completely in April 2012. It sat for over a year untill I found a later model impreza 5 speed manual transmission to replace it. Also had to repaint the quarter panels and rear bumper. Here are some recent pics.
