Making custom eyelids

So, i've determined that eyelids are too expensive to buy, and seemingly inexpensive to make. So I am going to attempt to make some. I don't want them to look just like the stock eyelids though. I have the chance to make them look custom, so i'm going to take the opportunity. I just don't know exactly how I want them to look.

So I decided I'd ask you guys. Does anyone have ideas of what eyelids would look cool on a BE? I want the car to look pissed off, but I'd also like the look to be sleek too. I have some ideas, all pretty similar, but I want to see if anyone else has a better sense of style than I do.

Feel free to post drawings and pictures if you want. I'd greatly appreciate some outside ideas.

grab some painters tape and try stuff until you find something that you like...

FYI - Scotch makes a brand of painters tape that is for outdoor use and is essentially Clean release duct tape... It comes in a clear/white color.

It is tough as hell and removes with no residue...

Also, just about all of the Tough line of Scotch tapes are bad ass in their own way.

Below are a few DIY for making fiberglass eyelines...

Super easy!! But working with fiberglass is sticky, smelly, itchy and possibly chem burns if your not smart about it.

1) Simply tape off around your headlight.
2) Tin foil the light
3) Use release agent / vasoline
4) Lay down a few layers of fiberglass
5) Pull the fiberglass off the light after it cures
6) Cut to shape
7) Sand / Prime / Paint / Clear
8) Enjoy your BOSS eyelines :-d

That second link was the one that showed me how easy it was to do, but I never saw that first link. I'll definitely read through that one too.

And you can use vasoline as a release agent? That would help, because I cant find release agent anywhere but online. I can get all the other supplies pretty easily though. Every auto store and home improvement store i've visited so far has the fiberglass sheet and resin/hardener.

The best source for fiberglass supplies are boat repair shops.

They have the specialty stuff like gelcoat and release agents however vasoline will work its just messy when you clean up after the release.

Lots of methods choose what works for you.

ever thought of vacuuforming? you can make a table for like 10 bucks, plastic sheets are cheap too, and you can make them in 5 min a set with no mess.

That's actually a really good idea. I never thought of that. And it would be easier to make more if I needed to.
