My friend and I the other night took my car out and this has always happened when the engine is cold I go into second and give it gas and the car shudders violently to the point its throwing you in and out of the seat back and forth and it goes away after driving it for a while when it warms up, the night we took it out he wanted me to launch the car from a stand still at about 5000-6000 the car just rolled out of the line and smoothly took off, not like his Type RA WRX which throws you back and squeals tires, and then you could smell the clutch and by no means was I riding the clutch I've driven them for 7 years. Is this the beginnings of the clutch going out I'm not too used to AWD and if its just my car that's slow on the roll lol.

The B4 was never meant to be launched - it's quite possible that your diff is allowing slippage. If you can smell bad eggs after a launch, or if you are in 5th and floor it - and nothing happens - your clutch and flywheel need to be looked at.

that's what I was thinking cause these cars have viscous lsd's right? and other than that the car drives great, it'll pickup a bit in 5th.
