I recently purchased and installed a Pioneer Avic 930bt into my 2000 BH. I need to know where I can tap into the VSS sensor? I was able to run a wire from the back of the deck through the firewall. I know where the VSS is located but I dont know which wire to tap into... So I'm turning to the great minds of SLI !!

If you would like to go to the source the VSS is located on the passenger side of the transmission.

If you would like to tap into the cabin then you will have to tap into to the wires that go to the cluster/gauges. The cluster is usually connected by 3-4 large cable sets that get clipped in. One of these sets of cables will include the VSS wires

Grab a copy of your Factory Service Manual and sift through the wiring diagram.

thanks, chuck... I knew where the sensor was. Do you know which wire I need to tap into for the signal?

Pin 1, shows as Green/Black in 2003 FSM.

Thanks Hocrest, Now is the pin 1 you speak of on the actual sensor or somewhere else?

Again, thx for the replies and sorry for the multiple questions, I'm just looking to get it right the first time and not somehow screw something up!

thx,

Chad

Pin 1 on the sensor. You can also find it under the dash near the gauge cluster or ECU, you'll need to look it up in the FSM for your specific year though.
