after swapping a 2.2 engine into my 2.5gt, everything works well and lovely, but my car is pissing transmission fluid :(

after examining everything underneath, and a lot of head-scratching, i think we just busted the torque converter seal; the first time we dropped the new engine in, something didn't line up quite right. the second time, everything was successful but, again, it leaks enough transmission fluid to pump itself dry fairly quick.

has anybody replaced this part before? i'm having trouble finding a confident match online.. ebay and autoparts store searches turn up mixed results. if anybody could suggest a part number or at least offer some personal experience, that'd be lovely!

thanks muchly! :smt026

I've always just got them from the dealer. There are two, might as well get both.

One looks like a cam/crank seal and goes into the trans before you mount the TC, the other is a thin split ring that goes onto the torque tube.

then to the dealer i shall go. with a part like this, i'd rather know i'm getting the right thing.
i'm not sure when i'll make it there.. any idea as to the cost of these two pieces? probably not much?

thanks =]

Should be less than $10-15 out the door.
