Hey fellas.
I want to build a some kind of lighting for my trunk because i don't have any :-(
How would you suggest to do so ?
I prefer it working when I open the trunk door.
Thanks

Get 1 of these for where the trunk meets the body of the car when closed:

Run a 12v+ constant power, wire into 1 side.

And on the other side, run another that will go to the 12v+ on the trunk light .

Ground the wire that's for the light and you should be all set.

Need me to clarify?

Your car should have one already! Mine does, but works when it feels like it.

Yep, all Subarus should have a trunk light up under the trunk lid, in the sedans it's under the rear windshield, on the wagons it's on the headliner.

Keep in mind he doesn't have a USDM car. Not really sure what market the Israel Subarus would be coming from honestly.

That being said, check and make double sure you don't just have a bulb out or a bad connection.

Good point... At any rate it should still have one, or at least have provisions for one. If not, it wouldnt be hard to find the OEM parts to get him set up to wire it in with the factory light and switch...

I've checked my trunk thoroughly and didn't find any sign or anything for a light.
Can someone please take a picture of his BD trunk light and post it here ?

Do you want a factory 1? If not, place it under the rear shelf in between the speakers.

I'll see if I can take a pic if my car has 1.

I prefer a factory however i know it's much more expensive, so i guess i'll build something out of SMD leds

After exploring the trunk i found on the left of the lock mechanism a white switch that is pressed when i close the trunk door, i think it's the original one that's responsible for the trunk light.
However i don't see where its wire go.. Can someone post the electrical sketch of the switch ?
Thanks

I have a wire hanging in my trunk. Never could figure out what it was to. It used to have a spoiler. So I thought it was to that.

ANyone have a picture? I don't have one either.

I know that when I sound-proofed my rear trunk deck, there was a white connector with two wires that was not in use... It appeared to be for the 3rd brake light if I didnt have a factory spoiler. It is still hanging down in my trunk to this day.
