Id like to eventrally get a new antenna mast and motor but only if what I'm asking about will work but is it possible for the antenna to go yup and down still when turning on and off the car even if you have a different radio in it then the stock one? I have a simple raido head in my subie, its a 95 LSI legacy sedan.

Most aftermarket stereos have a "power antenna" lead, yes. At least every one I've run across did.
