I was just thinking about it and more or less someone on here knows the answer but do the subaru dealerships actually still carry parts accessories for older subaru’s? I don't need anything I just kind of want to know. :smt017

I have no problem getting parts for my 95. I think most anything 1990 up in the EJ series isn't much of a problem. The old EA Subarus I don't know about though.

Sweet, so they still have stuff for BD models to. Badass.

The dealer I got to almost always has the parts I need. Got a bug guard for a BG a couple months ago and just checked on an OEM diff skid plate for a BK and he says they can still get them.

I often request parts for my Brat, XT6 and SVX. They usually need to be ordered, but the guys at my local dealer are good with helping me find things and ordering wiithout a deposit. There are some things that aren't available, but most things are.

Do you happen to have a part number for that skid plate? or how you asked them? I've been wanting to go ask them for awhile just don't know what to say? :smt017

Call subaruparts.com and have them search your vin for different parts and options. Then if they dont have it, the will look at the entire countries inventory and tell you what dealership does have it... then you just call them and they sell/ship it too you.

That is how I got the VERY LAST OEM ashtray replacement power outlets and my OEM alarm upgrate kit with shock sensor, starter interupt, lights flashing ect.

I know I looked up a set of OEM all weather floor mats for the BD too but they are not the same thing that we currently think of when we think of subaru all weather mats... they were subaru OEM but they were cut to fit and kind of ugly.

And the part number for the rear diff protector: B031SSA000

Badass okay, yeah the two main things right now I want is that change holder that were on the doors of the GT BD legacys and even that tool box thing we are talking about in that other thread. lol

I love that diff protector to. How strong is that because when i lift my car with a jack thats what i put the round flat plate part on.

Picture of the change holder??!?!?! never heard of it.

Something I saw a while ago that I havent seen ever again was a door handle conversion kit... for the inside... it was definatley a Subaru OEM kit.

It like replaced the handle with one that goes up to the window switches... one that your hand/fingers would go through:

Like this:

I cant remember if it was JDM or if it was an OEM add-on kit like tweeters... my guy is leaning me towards the OEM kit.

Oh dang lol that door is from Okin's 96 BD GT leggy but I just found out on another thread that he got that change holder from his bmw lol he replied to that thread with this

"E36 (92-98) BMW. It was a factory option. I'll try and get a part # for anyone who needs 1."

You know they're able to work on both doors right? And the 1 I have in my car now IS for an E36's drivers side, but wil work better on the passenger side as it can be placed up further near the speaker.

That would be the JDM door card

And my suby dealer usually has to order stuff for me....then again I only go in for odd requests like grill clips

How odd of requests do they take? I wonder if I can walk up to my Subie dealership and request a replacement B4 emblem, even though I live in the states. Im sure you can get replacement American emblems, but i'm curious to see if I can get the OEM B4 emblem, cosidering they still label the baseline Legacy in Japan as the B4.

Do you think the dealers can get ahold of this or would I just have to look on Japanese sites.

Do you mean this?:

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/11/DSCF1267-1.jpg

I'm sure you can find it on ebay or anything like that. Considering how common it is (on every 2nd Gen Legacy here), it shouldn't be too expensive either.

HELL YES!! that is what I want. the USDM legacys didn't come with that so thats why I want it :] I want to put those on the back doors.

Well, just get a rear door card then:

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/11/DSCF1268-1.jpg

Seriously, these things are on EVERY car. Shouldn't be hard/expensive to find.

Damn the JDM legacys are badass, Japan kept all the cool stuff for them selfs, as in the USDM BD's don't even have speakers on the rear doors also.

That's just because it's a GT-B limited. Those aren't on ever car here. As for being badass, I just recently did a 10 hour drive in the thing and cursed Subaru of Japan for not believing in cruise control. Your thing is an easy swap, ours is not.

Well, all the 'luxury' items (like leather seats, heated seats, etc) only came in the GT and 250T as options. Since most people didn't take those options, they are very rare. If I understand correctly, you have then all over the place there.
The way I see it, Japan = sport, North America = 'luxury'.

MarkSubi
11-29-2011, 04:58 PM
Yeah it does seem to be that way even though rather its JDM or USDM they body have a sporty look to me and when i said luxurys I meant more like the door card handel and small stuff like that but yeah heated seats and mirrors is something I do wish mine came with.

Dude, Yamazaki has been helping me big time with the JDM stuff... I'm working on a USDM/JDM tread... Lots of interesting differences...

And Yamazaki, I know the feeling with the cruise... My S13 lost it when I did my SR20DET swap... errrr....

Badass link me to that thread, I'm going to to be doing something like that with the interior. Going to make it surper comfortable and also pretty much do VIP like styling to the inside, Not going hardcore though.
