Hey all.
I just picked up an '06 Outback 2.5i, Auto tranny

Want to put a remote start in. Any recommendations for/against certain systems?? Why??

I installed a Valet unit in my gf's civic.... no problems except the wrong color wires in the factory harness :smt013

I don't need 2-way remotes, or additional security.
I like the Valet system I installed. I'm only asking here because I'm not very familiar with what's out there.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!!

Viper & Compustar are the 2 most popular systems I have seen installed and used.

Expensive as hell but warranty is great and quality of the units are very nice.

I am not 100% about the 2006 Legacy having an immobilizer and if so, the price goes up for remote start feature.

Of those two seems Compustar beats out Viper in quality, I have Compustar in my Legacy and Viper in my truck. Seems like the options for Compustar if you have a manual trans makes up for the price increase but if you're staying auto Viper should be just fine.
