Going to be adding heated seats to the 04 wrx wagon.

I was going to add heated seats to my legacy, but seeing as how I might be getting a new set of seats as soon as I find some, I decided to go ahead and do it on the ladies wrx wagon.

So I have been researching different companies who are making kits and it looks like I will be going with this brand:

I am highly opposed to using seatheaterkits.com or seat-warms.com ect... they have about 5 sites. They are out of Vancouver, BC and have been known for their horrible customer service.

Not only that, but they dont seem to offer a waterproof seat heater which I really like. I feel like the waterproof element would be more durable then the other ones.

Anybody else added aftermarket seat heaters?

I am going to do both sides, bottoms and backrests, with OEM switches.

Same, since I'm trying to make the interior of my legacy comfortable as hell this would be something id want to do for winter weather.

Ok well I will start compiling a list of parts that I will be using. Its too bad that there isnt a quality heat/cooling kit out there yet. The only seat heater/coolers available are really cheaply made.

I installed forester seat heaters in my bugeye last year. I used all forester parts, switches, heater elements and harness connectors. I love it. Butt heat is underrated. If you have any questions pm me.

So you got the elements out of the forester seats and put them in the bugeye?


More details would be great... specifically about how hard it was to remove the heating elements.

You can just buy seat heater elements from a newer legacy/impreza/forester is you want. Here are the parts:

They are freakin expensive though. Looking at about $160 + per seat. Bit high.

Hit up the junkyd. I used forester heater elements in my wrx and my outback. I havent paid more than $50 for everything to add seat heaters in 2 cars. The junkyd is your friend. :-)

Where did you grab your hog rings / pliers from?

I am a tech at a honda dealer so I already had all of those items laying around. I prefer tooltopia.com for tools. Hog rings can be gotten from almost any parts supplier.
